Surely a company who makes a percentage of the total sale price would have no perverse incentive to create an algorithm that artificially sugar coats reviews. /s

People shopping on Amazon are already very likely to buy there. They don't have a great incentive to falsely inflate reviews for items that they are unaffiliated with

Customers love the design choices and the screen brightness. Customers also really like the device weight and portability. Customers are unhappy with spontaneous battery fires and report several house fires. Customers are happy with the warranty policy, unless they're a homeowner. The red and black model is very popular.

Lmao

What's a das? Or is it a typo for NAS?

[–] Dudewitbow@lemmy.zip 48 points 10 months ago (1 children)

a NAS(network attached storage) as the name implies is a collection of drives connected over the network. a DAS (direct attached storage) is a collection of drives connected directly, usually over thunderbolt or high bandwidth connection. A typical USB drive is functionally a DAS.

[–] lud@lemm.ee 1 points 10 months ago

DAS can also simply be attached using SATA.

Direct-Attached Storage

Directly Attached Storage. A NAS but without the network part, a box of drives which you plug into your PC directly. For consumers via USB mostly, for larger applications via SAS or something.

[–] fri@beehaw.org 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

SAS? Now we need another explanation!

[–] _MusicJunkie@beehaw.org 3 points 10 months ago

It's a connection standard for enterprise hardware, think of it like your PCs SATA connections on steroids. You can have higher speeds, many drives on a single cable, and redundancy.

They say they like the included piss bottle. They say its good as long as they don't have to wait 3 whole days for their landfill product. Customers love employee suffering.

Do macbooks even have vents? I don't think you can effectively help cool them with a cooling pad.
