Reminder that sharrows have been found to actually make streets more dangerous:
Seattle
A community for news and discussion of Seattle, Washington and the surrounding area
I was wondering why NYC wasn't included in the list, then I saw this
New York was not included in this longitudinal study because the high number of cyclists and lanes would have overwhelmed their models
😂
Whenever I biked around Brooklyn I definitely felt safer in the protected bike lanes. I've always assumed that the people that bike around in Manhattan, especially Midtown, have a death wish. Biking down the narrow and packed streets in Park Slope was enough for me, biking down 5th Ave during rush hour was about as good as walking.
99% ... They pulled that number put of their ass...
No idea where in the world this is, but in Europe, retailers consistently overestimate the number of customers coming by car. For example, this Bristol study where retailers thought 41% of their customers were coming by car but the actual number was 22%.
Ps: oh, this is a Seattle community, that might answer my first question...

Out of curiosity, is that a public group? If so, how does one join it?
Semi private but there’s also the Seattle bike group on discord where I think this was also discussed.
