Can't wait to see LA get swept again.

I knew he was going to sign with the Dodgers but around the mid 600 million range. 700 million is wild. NL West in shambles.

I'm glad the Snakes got a nice run in last year. Of the 4 teams supposedly in the mix for Ohtani till the bitter end (Angels, Blue Jays, Cubs, Dodgers), the Dodgers are the only one that become a championship contender with him on the team

I dunno, I take a different view. Dodgers are already stacked and I'm not sure Ohtani really moves the needle for them in the immediate. He's an amazing player, but Dodgers are practically always in the playoffs and after that, everything is a crap shoot.

I hear ya. You're definitely right insofar as they need pitching, I think, and he won't be pitching next year because of elbow surgery

Absolutely insane! What an unbelievable amount of money to play a sport he loves. What a life.

I'm not happy about the Dodgers getting him. The Dodgers always have great off seasons while us Mariners have to watch management trade away our best players for another RHP we don't need.

A significant portion of the value is SURELY in the merch sales and international audience that will follow.

As good as he is, he’s also coming off of his second TJ surgery and won’t even be able to pitch this year.
