Strike delayed shooting. I would be surprised if we got it before Fall 2024. I’d bet money on July-Sept range if they’re rushing it.

I don’t know why I think he’s adorable, but I do

Ideas about the trailer :

It did not start with "War. War never changes" being said by Ron Pearlman. I don't care how inapt it is, it's a must include.

CGI looks badly composited.

Tone of humour seems marvel-ish (first half of trailer)

Second half of trailer shows incredible world building

For some reason, John Boyega is playing Finn again?

Amazon makes it tainted, but priacy tiem.

Bad choice of music initially, with a nice recovery later on.

Todd Howard isn't the seal of approval they think it is.

It seems interesting. Gotta look up what's been said already about vault 33 already.

I was hoping for a “war never changes” moment, but it’s a slow thing, and this was short. In my mind they were right to leave it out. I’ll be surprised if it’s not included in the actual series somewhere.

It's hard to judge something from a trailer, but everything I would want to see is here. There is action, blended with absurdism and humor. There's blunt violence, but still nuance between characters. I don't get the CGI complaints...we're spoiled from giant budget marvel movies, this looks fine for a TV show. I think the vibes of desolate wasteland dotted with dense colonies comes through. The creatures look rad, the power armor looks rad. If the show can make the context switches from "absurdist humor" to "desolate depression" to "extreme badassery" flow well, I think this is gonna be a blast. And the music...I will always love Fallout oldies. This trailer made me pretty excited. Dogmeat is the perfect kind of dude that will make casual viewers excited (because dog) and deep fans excited (because Dogmeat). I'm hyped, and at this stage it looks VERY much like it's NOT gonna be another Halo. I think without having a protagonist to get to choose different factions, it'll be interesting to do a show with multiple protagonists as long as there is a satisfying enough ending that doesn't require every faction to win.

I like Fallout, so why do I think this looks “too much” like Fallout?

[–] Cowbee@lemm.ee 2 points 11 months ago

I think it's because Fallout, as a world, is supposed to be an alternate version of our world, whereas this looks decidedly "Fallout." Once it becomes far enough removed from our timeline, much of the commentary and worldbuilding ceases to be as relatable as before.

Just my 2 cents.

Not sure including Todd Howard as a key factor for a Fallout series is a good thing, considering the drop in quality of lore within the Bethesda vs Black Isle/Obsidian games, but it looks "fun" at least. Will be cautiously pessimistic and hopefully pleasantly surprised.

This looks amazing! I was so excited just to see a radroach. I'm curious if they are going to call the dog Dogmeat or if it just happens to be a German Shepherd.
