Wouldnt surprise me at all if Case and Fab was 2-3 years older than they say they are.. ;-)

[–] lucigurl@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Not gonna lie Bayern has to get them both for a contract limited to end of next season Max. and could end up being the big winner out of this. Both would be highly helpful in Munich.

Has Case declined that much? Many teams are looking for a 6

[–] zackaria00@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (2 children)

It’s only Bayern or Barca

I don’t think he declined but hit form later during the season (Feb - May)

[–] javierich0@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I would love to see him succeed again, hopefully he recovers form and moves to Bayern.

Can someone inform me why Varane is leaving?

[–] YCJamzy@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (4 children)

Being benched for a cb paring of evans and Maguire, I’d want out too

Fell out hard with Ten Hag apparently.

[–] humunculus43@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (5 children)

Because he doesn’t know how to man manage at a level beyond the school playground. Management is all about push and pull but he seems to have an approach where he wants everyone to be a little boy. Compare how he manages to how Ancelotti gets the best out of his players. Pep and Klopp are both annoying demanding fuckers but seem to avoid falling out with their best players

Wow MUFC got a huge life line

However they missed out Kim and Rice

What’s the plan now ?

[–] BadassBokoblinPsycho@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Sign players ETH managed at Ajax

[–] peeforPanchetta@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I dunno if this makes me (and any other Utd fans) feel any better, but we were never getting either of those two. Rice was a pretty long shot all things considered, and Kim would never have chosen us over first team football at BuLi champs Bayern.

It's a sad state of things, but United have not been serious contenders for ages now. We shouldn't be trying to lure in big names with even bigger wages. Our wage structure is already fucked up beyond repair, and we only seem to be making it worse.

[–] zackaria00@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (3 children)

I think if Qatar or sir Jim happened then maybe

Kane waited for MUFC too

Casemiro goes to Saudi I think and Varane is genuinely good enough for any other team in Europe.

[–] No_Doubt_About_That@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

‘It’s always been my dream to play for Steven Gerrard.’

[–] niallw1997@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

So unbelievably injury prone though. I don’t think he’s got more than 30 games in a season in him anymore.

[–] theglasscase@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (23 children)

Casemiro going from being over-priced questionable signing to essential part of the team to washed dead money back up has happened at a remarkable pace.

[–] Blue_winged_yoshi@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (71 children)

It’s happens sometimes when you spend big on older players. People like to think that top players all stay at peak level deep into their 30s but many do tail off fast.

[–] TimathanDuncan@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (11 children)

No it doesn't

It happens with young players too

Rashfor goes from shit to world class regularly, AWB went from shit to essential to shit

Many other United players and other team players as well, why? Because fans have the memory of a gold fish and when team does bad they do this

Casemiro was never overpriced or questionable. He was valued exactly what he was worth and definitely one of the least questionable signings Manchester United has made.

Of course this was at the time of his signing.

[–] theglasscase@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (7 children)

definitely one of the least questionable signings Manchester United has made.

It’s less than 18 months since they signed him for £60m and now he’s getting binned off and yet he’s not a questionable signing? Sure thing mate.

[–] worotan@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Is he being binned off? Why are you so certain about trusting the Daily Mail?

You’re acting like the transfer is actually happening right now, not like you’ve read a story in a paper which routinely makes things up.

[–] MalcolmTucker88@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Don't think we'd have got top 4 without him. I'd imagine Champions League football is worth about that, even if we've crashed and burned in it.

You’re speaking in retrospect while completely ignoring the fact that the dude just tried to clarify that he meant without retrospective knowledge.

He was arguably our most important player last season.

[–] WorthStory2141@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (11 children)

He was one of our most important players, he was brilliant for all of last season.

I don't know what happened this season.

29 year old DM on mega wages from Madrid is definitely questionable. I can’t ever recall a time where Madrid have gotten the short end of the stick when getting rid of one of their big stars, that alone should’ve raised question marks. Madrid are very good at assessing the level of their players

Casemiro signing was always questionable. Letting along the obscene amount of money on a 30 y/o, the guy is pretty much the opposite of every Ten Haag football idea: a slow midfield destroyer pretty poor with his feet for a manager who strives for possession and high pressing never made sense. They basically obliged him to switch to a transitional team

[–] Elektro_Shox@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Casemiro is far from "poor with his feet".

There 100% was questions whether £60 mil price tag and 4 year contract for a 30 year old DM on 350k a week was overpriced. A bit revisionist to pretend there weren’t question marks at the time

Casemiro and Varane to reunite with Ronaldo at Nassr?

[–] D1794@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

The unreliable whispers are saying Case to Al Nassr yeah

the never ending United merry go round, like Chelsea they'll eventually rearrange into a winning combination at some point because it happens so often. until that depressing moment, happy friday to everyone on this blessed day.

Maguire outlasting Varane would not have been on anyones bingo card even 6 months ago. Fair play to him for turning it around.

United still have a serious problem in that every team and agent knows to put their prices up when they come knocking. Even bigger is that they've handled Sancho so badly that young players may think twice before moving there.
