The fediverse needs a place for aquarists! Saltwater, freshwater, breeders, fishless aquascapes, ponds, puddles, and bathtubs. If it's full of water and you're proud of it, we'd love to see it.

The after is nice, but before was honestly amazing.

I do agree that the before was great, however it was very high maintenance with the dense planting. The Amazon Sword and a few of the other fast growing plants eventually overgrew the whole tank and it became too much work for me to keep up with. So I decided to cut back significantly and go for a simpler and easier to maintain aquascape.

Is that a bubble on the left corner??

That's a CO2 checker. I have an injection system set up and it helps me set the CO2 regulator based on the color of the checker fluid.

What was the reason to simplify it? The before looks great to me, but I’m no expert. The after also looks great, maybe more like a real stream.

I mentioned in another comment, but basically it was becoming too overgrown (much more grown than my before picture) and became higher maintenance than I would've liked. So I decided to cut back on the plants.

Thanks for explaining and sorry you had to do it twice. On beehaw, where I’m at, the other comment doesn’t show up. I checked your instance and the person asking the question is from lemmy.world, maybe that has something to do with it?

No worries, I'm not sure exactly how lemmy works with the different instances, but yeah that's strange.
