In Germany it’s a convention that you put something on the street to signify that you want to gift it away. Of course, it should also have been obvious from the context they were moving in, so could still be a case of petty theft.

Ironic considering crime rates in Napoli vs munich

First I thought they mean some Asian car which is often joked about as a rice cooker and since it was outside, but damn, an actual rice cooker. Cry times

How different is it to boiling rice or frying rice?

Funny thing is: in Munich it is kinda normal to put old but still useful stuff outside the door for people to pick up if they like it. You can basically get everything you like for free there. Maybe the “thief” thought someone just placed a giveaway there.

Somehow I am more impressed that moved by himself and not with a moving company.

I had neighbours that would place the rice cooker outside there apartment in the hallway when cooking rice. Presumably so there house would not get smelly/humid. Other people on my floor were pissed because now the hallway smelled funny. Maybe these were the motivations of the theft?

Any story about burglary or vandalism is already a 10/10 story.

But it’s also about rice. 11/10 with rice.
