There is not more game than before, but there are players that want to play every game, even meaningless ones. And coach that are too coward to say "no".

[–] drupido@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

How long are we going to let UEFA/FIFA get away with this?

[–] Maximuslex01@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Gavi to Brighton. here we go

[–] Party-Staff-7409@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Shi tragic 😔

[–] KingKFCc@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

So pedri and gavi are down. Lamine and Fermin next?

[–] javierich0@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Wow, everyone is getting fucked. I wonder if Catalan media will celebrate this injury as much as celebrated Vini's.

[–] pashtedot@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

God i hope he’s not going to have a Whilshire legs problem

[–] xenon2456@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

2 tournaments

[–] _nigerian_princess@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Acl this young, he gonna have arthrosis by 40´s

[–] real0856@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Terrible to see a young player suffer an injury like this. Can only hope that he is young and has time to recover.

[–] Rigelmeister@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Cersei, The Hound, Meryn Tyrant, Luis de La Fuente...

[–] mrjerichoholic99@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Awesome news!

Whatever It takes to win the league

[–] TheyStoleTwoFigo@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

How does a coach rotate literally every player in a pointless match except the one that plays all the time?

[–] BarcelonaLion@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (6 children)

I need hope, has there been any players who have torn their cruciate ligament but come back to their original form after their injuries?

Also fuck De La Puente.

[–] TheDavinci1998@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Milik. He tore both in a span of 2 years. He was shit before the injuries and is shit to this day, so he returned to his original form

[–] akshay_rathod_@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

There are a lot. Gavi will be back in no time and even better.

[–] telcomet@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Fairly few attacking midfielders might be reassuring - Xavi, Roy Keane, Totti and especially Baggio all injured young and came back strong. This study on UEFA players is interesting - except for forwards, player performance generally returned by 3rd season after injury. So odds are Gavi has a long road back but should get there

[–] BarcelonaLion@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Yeah that reassures me Gavi is going to be ok! Hope he doesn't rush his recovery and instead comes back at 100%!

Gundogan, Pedri and Frenkie were actually supposed to be our main starters this season but with Pedri and Frenkie getting injured Gavi had to start many of our games this season. I am sure when he comes back he will be one of our undisputed starters and probably next in line for selection as Captain!

[–] Defiant_Ad1199@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Van Dyke is looking scary as hell at the minute. Was a long time out and then took a fair bit to get back in form though.

Weirdly, this maybe a worse injury for a younger player.

[–] SavingsLeg@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Lahm, Wirtz, Sane, Xavi, Del Pierro, Totti, (RVN, Azpi, Diogo Coasta, Boniface)

Elite players with elite game intelligence will always come back.

[–] Hopeful_Adonis@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Roy Keane, in many ways he said it was the making of him as it forced him to become hyper focused on recovery, diet and such, we did the treble the year he came back

[–] Lud31@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Oof this sucks. The calendar needs a major re-think. Get well soon, Gavi.

[–] birdsword@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Fuckin aye aye aye

[–] IntervisioN@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

We can't go 1 international break without an injury

[–] battlecatquikdre@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I'm gutted for him. This kid was shining..

[–] Caesar_Aurelianus@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

He was our best player by a mile whenever he played(alongside FdJ)

[–] subhasish10@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (2 children)

They ruined Pedri and are now doing the same to Gavi. Please Please Please protect Yamal

[–] aisamoirai@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

We saw how much febregas was played during his teens. It caught up with him in early 30s. I just hope pedri and gavi or any young player for the matter gets their playing time managed or i fear the worse for them.

[–] Driving_Seat@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Has pedri regressed that much?

[–] YoungFlexibleShawty@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Too many fucking games man. Now every team is going to need 20+ starting quality players just to be competitive.

[–] Calm_Research7036@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I’ve done my ACL twice.

This injury is not primarily caused by fatigue, simply a result of having one’s foot planted and suddenly hit by force. Often occurs when changing direction rapidly or landing from a jump.

As long as football is to be played, ACLs will tear. It’s actually easier to pop your knee because of a lack of fitness or over applying yourself when you lack the physical requirements, fitness, strength, build.

My advice to Gavi, take it easy. I respect his passion/aggression. But he is in such a small frame, he can’t physically apply himself all year at such intensity. He little muscles will implode. His joints will disintegrate.

[–] Caesar_Aurelianus@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

He's fucking 19.

He still has PLENTY of time to grow both physically and mentally.

But still he's our best midfielder alongside FdJ

[–] akshay_rathod_@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Mfs should realize there players are humans and cannot play every single game

[–] _nosfa@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

There needs to be a cap on number of games that players play.

[–] Ok_Pop1364@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Imagine having 47 million population still need to rely on 19 years to play you every week

[–] akshay_rathod_@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago
[–] NotAnUncle@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

The sheer amount of football head rather become tiring as a fan as well. It's become nothing more than a mere notification.

[–] areyouhungryforapple@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

another young player sacrificed on the altar of "gotta pump more money out of this sport"

I wish you a speedy recovery Gavi even if you are a prick, the injuries we are seeing these days is just too much and geniunely heartbreaking.

[–] Huichoo50@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Hate this dude but I'm a football fan first and this shits getting ridiculous these players need a break

[–] dieEchtenHans@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Players should unionize

[–] voli12@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

There's nothing I hate more than national teams. Boring games, two weeks with no real football and everyone comes back injured. If it was me I'd just allow for national games on the summer.

[–] Weary-Reference-6200@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Without raging at me, can someone explain why everyone is blaming de la fuente for this.

[–] manere@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

This exactly why I am happy that we play only play Tel like 35 minutes per game.

Players this young shouldn't play every single game for years.

[–] LeDouchekins@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Players need to start saying no to call-ups.

[–] loveandmonsters@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Wow that came from nothing, sucks

[–] nonameonthelist@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Just buy hospital instead of ref.

[–] Electrical-Fan5665@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Dodgy title. There are different types of cricketer ligaments and tearing each has vastly different consequences. I’m assuming this is ACL but it needs to be exactly stated

[–] Maleficent_Resolve44@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Its a shame. He's being run into the ground like Pedri. Hopefully bellingham doesn't develop similar issues.

[–] boywithtwoarms@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

incredible stupid fitness management all around. especially gavi has such an intense play style managers should really be looking to minimize wear

[–] Yaysuzu@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Can you imagine having a car racing business, where you choose the best cars from the dealerships, for free and whenever you want, you keep the benefit of the races and if they crash you just choose another ones for free.
