Fake History Porn

Welcome to /c/fakehistoryporn@lemmy.world , where fake history is made. Find a historically significant photo, come up with a fake history title, post it, laugh.

The name is a reference to the fact that the pictures should be worth marveling at. This is NOT a place for hardcore pornography. Tasteful nudity is fine as long as it fits within the context of the post (please mark it as NSFW).

From Jacob Riis' "How the Other Half Lives" which was an early photojournalism investigation into the slums of ~~London~~ New York.

(I know, not PugJesus. I'm confused.)

I've seen a few times on Lemmy where people make ridiculous claims that life now is just as bad or worse than they were then. These are some of the silliest, most privileged nonsense I've read in awhile.

Rant over.

Thanks for the correction, NY not London.

It is because talking shit about how bad modern life is due to the tyranny of capitalism is the Lemmy equivalent of Reddit complaining about itself.

It's cheap and easy upvotes.
