Since this is a science group, perhaps the Icelandic Met Office's writeup is a better source.

Thanks for this. It’s concerning the similarities they see between Fagradalsfjall 2021, and the seismic activity they recorded a month before that eruption. And certainly justifies the declaration of a state of emergency.

The main difference is that this time the volume of magma is much larger.

according to the IMO, with “a dense swarm” of nearly 800 quakes registered between midnight and 2pm GMT on Friday.

That's about one earthquake a minute.
