Robotaxis are in my opinion still the lesser evil, reducing the need for parking space.

In most scenarios autonomous cars are already better drivers than most humans are ever going to be. Only in edge cases can they make the wrong choice. Over the next few years software will get better (and some companies will fall out of the race).

I don’t think my problem is that self-driving cars are better or worse drivers, I think I have an issue with the fact that they are alpha-testing their product on streets that they may not be ready for. In the event of a collision, the car is going to drag someone around? That’s a pretty risky edge case to shrug off.

Also notable is that they are hiring for a Chief Safety Officer now.
