I've moved on but this is the first time I've heard about this Independent Key Match Incidents Panel

[–] SuperSilveryo@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

and the panel is wrong

[–] WillChef@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Do these panels realise that they're setting a precedent here that now this action isn't a foul and every time its rightfully called as one everyone is going to call them out for it now being called? It just adds to the confusion. Just admit you were wrong and we can all move on

Good can we all move on from this so.

This whole thing from Arteta is a play to pressure refs to give contentions decisions their way in future.

[–] quartzguy@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

They're just making random decisions now aren't they? Do they even care?

[–] unknown93_01@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

To put it bluntly, English football is massively corrupt. There is no way to put it, the disparities in officiating and government owned clubs who invite refs to referee and earn their salaries in 2/3 games has killed off any hopes of a fair game.

2 out of 5 on the panel didn’t think VAR should intervene on the Guimares incident?? I just don’t understand that.

If there’s one thing VAR should definitely be used for it’s showing the on-field ref an incident that he very understandably missed because it was off the ball. This is absurd.

Very happy to see that everyone from all sides can see how moronic this panel is.

“I think they are trying to make the best decisions, they are trying to protect the game. At some point as well we need to give support and understand that mistakes happen. We’ve made mistakes as well and if the pressure is so much then it’s very difficult to manage."

I'm sure Arteta will continue his understanding tone in response to this.

I for one am shocked

[–] o_monzi@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

No credibility in this when they don’t unanimously think Bruno G on Jorginho isn’t a slam dunk red card

[–] HEAT_IS_DIE@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

You people in this sub like to complain so fucking much there's no point in this anymore. Coming here sucks all the joy out of football.

Everyone is a fucking refereeing expert and there's zero respect for the difficult job. How the hell have you not noticed that football is and always has been full of gray areas and subjective decisions to be made by the refs. There sometimes isn't a call everyone will agree with. It's just obvious. You got to take it with the sport.

It feels all of you don't like football and would want it to be a different sport. Esoecially when you lose.

Refs can’t swallow their whistle if “clear and obvious”, whatever that really means, is the standard that continues.

I’m actually not watching any more this year. It’s not interesting.

[–] LaughsAtOwnJoke@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Sack literally all of them lmao

[–] kwhicks@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Lmao the same folks also thought Bruno G and Wilson didn’t deserve red cards lmao
