750k pets over ten million hours? That's barely four pets per minute. Do better people. Pet your good boy today!

Your maths is way off. It's actually 0.075 pets per hour. Abysmal!

Their math is wrong but their heart is right. Still a keeper.

I like these kind of stats, they're neat. I do a good playthrough first before being evil, I wonder if many like me skew the Grove stat.

I know plenty of people are like me and come out of a game session feeling gross and with a slimed soul when they go evil in a game.

Yes, I know it's just pretend an has no real life consequence, but after Dark-siding all over these fictional people, I feel like I need to go out and help grannies cross busy intersections for a few hours in atonement lol

The guilt is real. I struggle to play evil because I feel so bad.

I tend to start with a good playthrough because most games aren't designed well enough to accommodate a worthwhile evil playthrough. It's often less interesting and contains less content, which may be realistic (it's usually better to make friends than enemies) but rarely satisfying. I'm hoping this game will be an exception.

Though I might still go evil in this playthrough. I chose the Dark Urge for my character (wanting to see what the redemption story looked like) but now I might have put myself into the reverse of the usual situation - not being evil might actually be hampering my enjoyment currently.

Is it really worth it to be talking to most corpses with Speak With Dead? I've only done it once or twice and didn't get much useful info out of it

[–] Cethin@lemmy.zip 6 points 1 year ago

Most corpses don't tell you much. Occasionally they'll tell you where something valuable is. Often they're just an alternative route to get information you could get otherwise, but that's true for almost everything in the game. They've built in a ton of options. Occasionally they'll point you to where some magical gear is that you'd otherwise almost certainly miss, which can be nice. Usually it's just a source of advancing quests and getting more information on who someone was.

I am talking to all of them (or at least these which will speak to me). For example, you can get info on where a certain political figure probably is, or a location of some precious thing.

I thought it took a lvl3 spell slot so I basically never cast it. I might have to try it more often

[–] The_Ferry@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

It's ritual cast just like speak with animals. That means that if you use it outside of combat (where it's probably more useful) then it doesn't cost a spellslot

Wait... Can I kill the druids and let the tieflings stay in the damned Grove? Gonna load a save and try that out, do I still have to kill the goblins tho?

[–] DacoTaco@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Ye you can. My friends and i did it by accident as one friend walked too far to the druids down the grove and battle started. I wont say much, but a lot changes by doing it.

[–] DrWorm@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

We accidentally killed everyone in the grove... Misclicks be bad.

[–] kungfusion@kbin.social 4 points 1 year ago

and we can play fetch with Scratch too!

750000 pets: 813000 concurrent players: Conclusion? Some people are just more interested in other things to do in the game than the decision to pet a digital dog that has no progression in the game

[–] ThayWizGwar@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

You... Monster!

[–] elderflower@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

My friend was talking to the people in the centre of the grove. I clicked on his character to walk towards him, but the entire grove became hostile so we had to kill everyone. But then we also ended up killing everyone in the goblin camp too after deciding to fireball their leader. Does that count as assaulting or saving the grove?

The implication that they're watching how we play is slightly off-putting to me. But that's how it's been in every game since achievements became recorded.

Tbf it’s basically useless for them to know that player XXX chose penis type C and to romance Y.

They get stats as groups and they can use that to improve gameplay.

Also if you bought it on GOG at least there’s nothing preventing you from cutting internet access to the game. Even on Steam this is probably possible. So if that bugs you, you can work around it
