I blame Jamie Oliver. Not for any particular reason, I just don't like the guy.

[โ€“] Son_of_dad@lemmy.world 14 points 1 year ago (1 children)

My favorite video is still the one where he tried to put kids off nuggets by showing them how they're made, but the kids still wanted the nuggets and Jamie's face of heartbreak was delicious.

and Folding Ideas / Dan Olson made a documentary about what an underhanded editing technique that was, comparing the UK and US shows to expose the trick

Got a link? This sounds interesting.

Does anyone remember one of the earliest instances of what could be called memes on the internet in the early 2000's, where someone ran a blog-style site about Jamie Oliver ranting about their latest reason for disliking Oliver, which invariably ended with...

"...you fat tongued cunt"

No? Just me?

If you dislike him, youโ€™ll probably like this Cassette Boy thing

How do they tell the difference between parasite induced diarrhea and normal English cooking induced diarrhea?

[โ€“] xkforce@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago

Pretty sure English food didnt just start being terrible recently.

Please educate yourself before posting this kind of ignorant comment.

and scientists don't know why

The article quite clearly explains that it's a parasite outbreak.

[โ€“] warmaster@lemmy.world 16 points 1 year ago (1 children)

But why is the parasite doing this ? The parasite community must answer for their crimes.

[โ€“] KISSmyOS@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Let's ask a parasichologist.

[โ€“] fossilesque@mander.xyz 2 points 1 year ago

Maybe we should question a parasociologist too.

Sorry, my fault. I was just on holiday all over GB. I will be leaving tomorrow and taking my severe IBS on the plane with me to torture Germany with. PS your toilet paper sucks.

[โ€“] rmuk@feddit.uk 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It's absorbant, sure, but I wouldn't say it sucks exactly.

[โ€“] supernicepojo@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

After all the hype of the bidet being available in Europe, I have yet to find one. I was disappointed about that which coloured my opinion about the paper. Also, I got poo on my finger after a very long day at a pub in Leicester.

It must run in their jeans

I like how it calls the illness "Crypto", then like to imagine it's an article about Bitcoin etc.

"Crypto is caused by inadvertently ingesting faecal matter"

"Most people recover from crypto without needing treatment"

So if you ingest faecal matter on purpose, you're safe. Good to know. /s

We've basically caused a mass extinction of our collective gut bacteria with a diet of processed, grain-based food.

[โ€“] MotoAsh@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

It's OK, it matches the rest of the mass extinction we're causing.

[โ€“] muix@infosec.pub 2 points 1 year ago

Most people are also deficient in nutritional fibre, which is essential for gut bacteria to thrive. Caused mainly by a lack of quality plant foods in diets.

It was awful.
