It looks like they were banned, but the comments are still up. Hopefully there is a way of removing them all.

We upgraded to allow us to get rid of them. Done now

Thanks 👍 I just blocked the idiot.

I wonder what is the motive here.

If there is one thing I have learned from lemmy so far, is there are a lot of weirdos on here with an axe to grind. world and ml get regularly DDOSed, there was the time when world got hacked and got a ton of horrible stuff posted to it, and there was that one user who claimed a lot of communities and sat on them, only to vow revenge when they got banned.

My guess is that Lemmy is at the weird intersection where it's popular enough that people get satisfaction from "breaking" it while also not being mature enough to have robust ways to defend against it. The project did get forced into the limelight after all and it's fantastic that everything has scaled as well as it has so far

They're likely very upset about something. Seems like a supreme waste of effort though. Admins can just click on a user and purge all comments with a single click. The best part is how they put a pacifier on the picture. It's like subconsciously they know they're just having a big ol cry.

I just blocked them, it’s annoying

[–] Crul@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago

I'll do it too, but I wanted to save everyone the need to do it.

[–] snarf@kbin.social 2 points 1 year ago

I don't know why, but I find it amusing that the dude spammed this post about him.

[–] ImplyingImplications@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 year ago

I've reported some of the posts but there doesn't seem to be a way to report the user

[–] Roundcat@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Any other kbin users getting an error message trying to block it? I'm on my lemmy account cause there is no way can find to silence it from kbin.

From kbin? I'm on lemmy rn cause it's working here.

[–] gullible@kbin.social 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You get an error but it should still be blocked when you come back. A few kbin features function but still send you to an error page.

[–] Roundcat@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I get the error, and its still visible.

[–] gullible@kbin.social 1 points 1 year ago

Hmm, have you tried blocking from the floating information panel or directly on their profile? I can’t recall which, but one of them worked for me.

[–] czech@kbin.social 1 points 1 year ago

Worked fine for me from kbin
