Lol, so inconsistent, you could call 5 pens a game this way

Nice dive by Rodri, knew he wasn't going to be anywhere near that cross

[–] ibse@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Only Man City get these calls

[–] -sin07-@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

shit like this with VAR makes me not want to watch... so fucking stupid. i thought VAR was supposed to help refs make better calls, not worse. any time a player refuses to take an actual step and instead puts his feet together to fall is a clear signal of a dive. no one fucking falls like that.... take an extra step because you are off balance and then fall, fine, but no fucking person falls like that

The fuck was that penalty?

In before PGMOL apologizes for the Man City penalty.

Ange is 60mins of football away from winning Manager of the Month for the third time in a row

[–] breezyceezy@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Literally couldn't tell who the foul was called on during the replay

[–] qNeb1208@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I swear to God is it even worth playing when this shit doesn't get called 9/10 times

[–] Manchestarian@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

In the same frame, gvardiol does the same thing to rashford, but because Rashford doesn't simulate and dive, nothing. VAR has ruined this game.

[–] SoloArtist91@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

So the referee can stop the game even if the ball is in play to check the monitor and make a decision? Huh, funny how it benefits City to get a soft as fuck penalty, whereas a completely legitimate Liverpool goal is... "can't do anything"

[–] Ralakhala@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

The saudis must’ve called Michael Oliver right before that

[–] AdriT25@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

This never gets called but here we go, look forward to something similar in next game but nothing will be called

[–] mincers-syncarp@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

United get favours from the refs though

[–] Eindacor_DS@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

tbh I agree it's a penalty. but they should always be called, not just sometimes. hope it doesn't kill the game, it's been good so far.

[–] mrchab97@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Happens every game, never ever given

Hit ‘im Soyfan!

Sterling literally gets shoved to the floor by a defender nowhere near the ball: No penalty

Hojlund doesn’t defend with his hands in his pockets: Penalty?

[–] ongone@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

The prem has absolutely 0 credibility. This league is GARBAGE

[–] tearsandpain84@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Let AI do the var the refs are fucking morons

[–] blackjesus345@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Maybe I’m alone on this but I feel like there has to be more to be a penalty than just a normal foul in the box. Cancelling out a clear goal scoring opportunity or an egregious/dangerous foul = penalty, just a foul = yellow card or indirect free kick or something else. The level of punishment does not fit the crime on this play.

[–] jusbolo2@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I wonder if he was aiming at the water bottle

[–] Fright13@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

So I trust the refs will be consistent and start awarding 15 penalties a game for this now?

[–] ShamrockStudios@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Full Sky penalty saying no penalty because they are never given. Absolute joke by the ref.

Hope they got our apology read haha

[–] JayNN@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Never been called in the history of football before and it never will be again lmao

[–] JonnyDixon@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

The refereeing vs united this past 3 weeks has been horrific in champs and prem.

[–] Prowdzz@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

So... after watching the Kovacic decision at the Emirates and now him making this decision against United.. Why hasn't Michael Oliver been investigated or at the very least how is he allowed to ref/VAR in any game City plays? How is that not a blatant conflict of interest?

[–] oustider69@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

This is Michael Oliver on VAR being Michael Oliver VAR.

He’s the biggest “umm actually” ref in the league.

Look at that time he gave Martinelli two yellows from the same passage of play. He loves to enforce interpretations of the rules that are technically correct but almost never enforced.

[–] Adityavirk@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Wish we had this ref in our last game.

[–] ProgressEuphoric@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

So we do have a separate rule book for city...

[–] hernandezdiego89@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Erling Haaland's success in converting the penalty underscores his status as one of the most sought-after strikers in world football. His ability to score from a variety of situations, including penalties, adds to his market value and reputation.
