squires’ work has the ability to be at once brutal, acerbic and funny as fuck one moment, then stirring, humane and utterly devastating the next

It’s always emotionally intense, though, it’s not surprising that he can switch from brutal mockery of people who attack decent society, to deep admiration of those who uphold its values.

Squires typical comedy often makes you forget just how much of a gut punch he's capable of in more sombre pieces. This is one of them.
