From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

I’ll never participate in one of the “master race” communities because of the chronically icky association with fash shit. I get it, it’s an old reddit-ey joke from like 2011, but it’s undeniable that the name has a very strong undertone of white supremacy.

Moving away from the incumbent social networks is our chance to create a new culture without that baggage.

Plus, jokingly using fash shit tends to attract people who aren’t really joking but want plausible deniability.

In your head.

Calling insignificant and nerdy things like os choice a trait of the master race is openly mocking the concept of a master race by making it ridiculous

Suite yourself I guess. What ever floats your boat

Thanks for sharing Linuxquestions. I'm new to the ecosystem but my stuff works well for my current needs, so being exposed to people's problems and the methods for approaching them is a great way to passively expand my knowledge.

Feddit.de is one of the worst cancel-culture instances, just check the modlog. I would recommend avoiding it as the toxic mods are ruining it.

The mod log doesn't load for me so I assume they just canceled it

It has trouble loading sometimes. But they ban multiple people daily due to disagreements.

I just got it to load and you are right, they do moderate a lot for very little reason. I am pretty supportive of moderation but its a little over the top.

Perhaps we need another community
