No shade intended. I was just seeing some art from the new MtG Doctor Who cards and for whatever reason decided to look up what the Menoptra looked like originally and the disparity really cracked me up.

They're honestly really creative and beautifully realized for the time and budget they had. They're among the most interesting alien races in any mainstream sci-fi, and I love that they had the ambition to go for it and trust that the audience would go along with them.

No worries, I'm with you on that! It's easy to look back and chuckle at the past without context, but I 100% agree that it's great. The boldness and creativity is impressive and respectable. And without innovations like it, we wouldn't have the new creations and concepts we have today. The creativity of the past paved the way for the creativity we enjoy today.
