That’s genuinely one of the worst performances from Brazil, ever. 1 shot on target, and the entire team looked clueless.

Drop Marquinhos and Casemiro, play a midfield 3 of André, Guimarães, Paqueta to not get overrun, and play attackers based on performances for the Seleção, not for their clubs. Martinelli/Rodrygo should be ahead of Vinicius for the LW (who has been nothing short of abysmal), and Raphinha is the nailed on the starter for the RW.

Neymar continues to carry that attack, and now he’ll be out for months. That game against Argentina might be embarrassing if things don’t change.

Martinelli/Rodrygo should be ahead of Vinicius for the LW (who has been nothing short of abysmal), and Raphinha is the nailed on the starter for the RW.

Raphinha is literally the worst winger we have by a mile.

Martinelli had one game to try to do shit and guess what we lost to fucking Cameroon while Vinicius was our best attacking player during WC.

[–] Bugslayer03@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Lmfao you clearly didnt watch that WC game. Or at the very least remember it. Martinelli was the only person doing things that game.

[–] Augustor2@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Vinicius was our best attacking player during WC

yeah, he really made the difference in the WC, we wouldn't have done it without him.

Vini Jr is the better player, but he is a shadow of himself playing for Brazil with these tactics, Martinelli overall had more impact every time he was on the field, and that was true for the last game as well.

Sky is the limit for bielsa with this group of players. Perfect mix of technique and garra charrua

[–] WillametteSalamandOR@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I’m so glad Darwin gets to work with Bielsa at the national team level.

I hate to be that guy, but I’ll have to be that guy: Diniz has a Libertadores final in less than 20 days, it could be the biggest title of his career and Fluminense’s history. How dedicated is he to the NT right now?

I mean, it’s not his fault, it’s CBF president for hiring him.

[–] crazyeyes91@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

After watching both games, I'm inclined to agree. I don't see anything of substance when the players are on the field. This is like a part-time night job for Diniz.

[–] iredcoat7@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Wait, Diniz is actually doing the Football Manager 'manage club and country at the same time' thing in real life? I didn't think I'd ever see that lmao, it's so clearly a bad idea. Why did the Brazilian Football Confederation accept it?

[–] octaviosiepi@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Tabarez lost all his matches against Brazil with embarrassing results. It turns out Uruguay had good players all along and should have been playing these kind of matches as a big team. Yes, this Brazil is weak, but results against Brazil and Argentina during Tabarez tenure were embarrassing, the guy was phobic when he had to face the other south american giants.

[–] L_CRF@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Lol you never look at the other coach, do you ? We never lost a single Qualifier under Tite, you coud have Tabarez, Bielsa or whatever and still going to lose

Thanks today win to that dumbass Fernando Diniz.

[–] GreatSpaniard@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

First loss to Uruguay friendly or competitive since July, 2001

First World Cup Qualifying loss since September, 2015

[–] DarkNightSeven@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

We had last lost to a Chilean side in Chile that didn't even qualify lol

[–] NightSmoke19@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Brazil will always be Brasil BUT they are gonna be really fucked if they don't get a good coach

[–] Rain1984@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

WHAT YEAR IS IT?!?!!

[–] RiverSosMiVida@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (5 children)

Uruguayan donkeys yelling Ole Ole! to you, Might be lower than 7-1 Brasil.

[–] jpms1989@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

What polenta overdosed does to a mf

[–] deepodic@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

The 7-1 was very worse individually too.

[–] flaycs@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Didn’t your lot chant Ole against Paraguay?

🤡

[–] OnePieceAce@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

[–] antiparras@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

DE LA CRUYFF 🔥

[–] Sdnz0r@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

We need to rebuild this team from the ground up, no more Marquinhos/Casemiro/Neymar and players from the 2018/2022 cycle, none of them has shown real leadership under the NT and are just embarrassing them selfs and the NT, if we can't get anything out of our most experienced players then it's time to start investing in the next generation. Robert Renan, Murillo, Danilo, João Gomes, Vitor Roque, Endrick, Marcos Leonardo, etc all must be in the squad for 2026.

[–] MaskedBandit77@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Yeah, obviously they are talented players, but they have to be one of the worst generations in terms of tournament success in Brazilian history.

A lot of times teams will stick with an established, but aging team one cycle too many, but usually that's when they've been exceptionally successful, like Spain in 2014.

Brazil should definitely be looking to develop a new young core so that they're ready to go for Copa next year, which will prepare them for 2026.

[–] bolacha_de_polvilho@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

90 minutes and we had 2 shots on goal. One a scuffed header from a corner that went miles wide and the other a shot from a direct free kick. We couldn't create a single chance to shoot from open play in 90 minutes.

And by the way, the last 2 games we also created nothing and only scored one goal from a corner in each game.

In 7 games since the world cup, we've lost 3, to Marroco, Senegal and Uruguay.

This is one of the most (maybe the most?) pathetic sequence of games I remember seeing from the national team.

[–] nolesfan2011@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Colombia looks bad, Brazil looks worse, we're about to see what their attack line looks like without Neymar for an extended time now

[–] livinginthedoghouse@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I've never seen Brazil play so mediocre, and I'm old.. Not the Brazil I know. I hope they return to their usual soon.

[–] Orruner@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Did you see Brazil play with Dunga in 2015? That was beyond mediocre, it was abysmall

[–] FriendlyGhost08@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Fine. I guess Venezuela will have to be the one to challenge Argentina since Brazil aren't doing it

Look what happens when we have a good coach. Tabarez wasted our golden generation but now we have a new one coming.

[–] germancookedus@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

He didn’t had a midfield like this one

[–] negronium_ions@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

He would've found one that worked for him instead of letting player agents force him to play certain people

[–] bcerd@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

?? Semis of the World Cup and a copa America. I wouldn’t say that’s wasted tbh

[–] Dry-Friendship-5642@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Brazil don't have a plan. They shouldn't be building around Neymar. Historically, those Brazilian superstars don't age well. They currently don't have a consistent 9. It seems like Luis Fabiano was their last real 9.

[–] CrowCreative6772@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Adriano was great

I know the Selecao had to move on from Tite, but they would never have suffered a result like this under him

[–] crazyeyes91@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

No it would have happened at the World Cup instead lol

[–] gaia012@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Tite is a great coach. People forget how it was before him: Dunga, Scolari, Menezes, Dunga again.

Brazil played horribly before him. Tite was the one to change the team to one of the favourites to win the WC. Without him, we would have fared much worse in 18 and 22.

[–] crazyeyes91@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

We were eliminated in the qfs both WCs. I think Tite definitely deserves credit for how time with the NT but I can't ever forget his lack of plan b, c and d that led to our elimination in the QFs.

[–] GuilhermeBahia98@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I am sick of it! All those trash CF can go to hell!

Marcos Leonardo and Vitor Roque NOW!

No one gets scared of Brazil anymore, Cameroon and Morroco showed that. Brazil is not scary anymore.... I will way again, Brazil won't win any more WC until they get an new Ronaldo or Ronaldinho.

[–] Nubras@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Oh is that all? They just need to get a new all-time great attacking player?
