What kind of psychopath does that to their phone interface? This is Microsoft Plus!-level bullshit.

[–] krashmo@lemmy.world 25 points 1 year ago

Right? It's hideous. I feel like I can't trust OP's decisions on anything if this is how they live their life.

It reminds me a bit of comic sans, and comic sans is easier to read for dyslexic people, so maybe this is a good feature to have

I wanted to do comic sans too, but it also was not avaliable

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

This is harder to read, though.

Its easier for me to read than the default fonts

Samsung One UI moment

You can do some heavy modifications to their skin, on par with some custom ROMs of old, but it seems that a third of the time all the users do is install The Ugliest Font You've Ever Seen

I don't like to think I hate myself this much

but here I am going to screw around with the font

[–] itslilith@lemmy.blahaj.zone 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

looks like a dyslexic-friendly font

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It doesn't really, though.

[–] Evilsmiley@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 year ago

Are you dyslexic yourself? I know not everybody finds the same fonts helpful to them.

[–] Evilsmiley@sh.itjust.works 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm not in this group but some ppl i know with dyslexia find more weid fonts like this easier to read

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

These scrawls are very hard to distinguish - this looks nothing like the dyslexic typefaces I've seen.

[–] StarlightRose@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

As a dyslexic woman, it helps me more than the other free options avaliable

they went from 1 braincells to 2 braincells

Holy shot, they’re twice as smart now

[–] genoxidedev1@kbin.social 7 points 1 year ago

A 100% increase in brain capacity, Kapitän!

[–] backhdlp@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 1 year ago

Holy feck, I don't have more than double the braincells of transphobes anymore

Don't listen to the people in the comments OP, if you like your font, keep using it

[–] Bremmy@lemmy.ml 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Agreed! But we will still judge lol

[–] StarlightRose@lemmy.blahaj.zone 10 points 1 year ago

And the more you judge, the more inclined I am to use this font, lol

I am a spiteful person by nature

[–] RacoonVegetable@reddthat.com 19 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (3 children)

My friend PLEASE download and use a nice font like San Francisco, Segoe UI or at least Helvetica Neue. If you’re dyslexic or hard of vision in other ways use Atkinson Hyperlegible.

(I replaced man with friend) (I used man as a general neutral term)

[–] StarlightRose@lemmy.blahaj.zone 10 points 1 year ago

unfortunately Samsung has no free good fonts lol, and I'm dyslexic sooo

Believe me. I wanted to download hyperlegible, but its simply not avaliable on the galaxy font store

Also even in a gender neutral fashion, I dont enjoy being called man

I would download atkinson but again, idk how to enable it on this phone lol

[–] backhdlp@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 1 year ago

(man isn't a general neutral term)

[–] tfw_no_toiletpaper@feddit.de 16 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I don't even know what font that is supposed to be wtf

[–] madeline@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 1 year ago (2 children)

i think this font is literally built in on some if not all samsung phones

[–] genoxidedev1@kbin.social 5 points 1 year ago

Nah I had way too many samsung phones these recent years, I've never had this font. This was done deliberately, to spite me! I needed that font and they TOOK it from me! They ripped it straight out of me, out of my soul, my freedoms to choose that font were gone. And now I'm here typing up comments with my witty little fingers and clicky keys about how I never had that font, knowing that I never had that font and that I am typing without it right now looking at this Arial-ass looking font knowing nothing about happiness.

[–] AVincentInSpace@pawb.social 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

iirc it is called Choco Cooky

[–] madeline@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 1 year ago

yeah that name sounds familiar

It's called rosemary, best font I can actually read that is avaliable and free tbh

[–] StarlightRose@lemmy.blahaj.zone 14 points 1 year ago

The amount of people just telling me the font is ugly

I know it is ugly, it wasnt even my first choice. Unfortunately its my best option for a font I can actually read properly because I dont know how to add third party fonts without root

Not all mutations are beneficial to the species or habitat.

[–] AVincentInSpace@pawb.social 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

the cool thing about android is it lets you change the UI font. and then you can take a screenshot with a different font and 20 different people will wonder how you could possibly get used to using your whole entire phone like that

[–] AVincentInSpace@pawb.social 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

relatedly, how can you possibly get used to using your whole phone like that
