Spain deserved the win overall, but shows how far we’ve come that we’re disappointed to not take something from Spain away.

I can deal with losing but that is the worst VAR/refereeing decision I have ever seen. Absolute fucking robbery.

Absolutely shocking refereeing performance. Indefensibly biased.

[–] moonski@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (3 children)

The fact they changed the decision for the disallowed goal is wild. It went from being a foul to offside. But why would the ref go to the monitor to review an offside???? Absolutely bizarre officiating, even if it was correct they really fucked it

[–] Thien_Nguyen@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

But its still offside ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

[–] afcxlm@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I thought Gavi had discomfort a couple of days ago, why did he end up playing the full 90 😅

[–] KieRanaRan@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Imagine being so wasteful in front of goal that you need dodgy reffing & VAR to spare your blushes.

Was fully expecting a defeat tonight but something about that just stinks

Still no reason we can't get something against Norway & Georgia

I'll ask if I ever go to Ibiza.

[–] theskinnysweatyman@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I can accept that Hendry may have been offside, but then why did they make the referee go to the screen? Am I wrong? Don't the VAR officials usually make offside decisions themselves? At the very least, shouldn't the referee get the lines applied to the screen so he doesn't have to rely on his naked eye?

It seems like the referee did in fact disallow it for being a foul, and ten minutes later the VAR officials told the commentators he was offside because they realised that was a stupid decision. Just a shitshow all around.

McTominays goal went for a VAR check... ref gave the goal... then a few seconds later took it back... wtf

[–] verycutebunny@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

this is my first time seeing a blatantly fixed match

[–] er_primo_der_rafa@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Well played North England 👏👏

[–] JugonEx@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Ugly football by Scotland as usual.

See you in the euros, boys. If you can stop crying, of course.

More Scottish salt here than in a Glaswegian chippy

[–] Obamanator91@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I'm salty as fuck.

No way we'd have lost 2 goals if that outrages joke of a decision wasn't made. Fuming.

[–] GlasgowGunner@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

If Scotland got a point that’s one qualification place gone and one less chance for Norway to qualify.

[–] polaretti_fruit@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Uefa confirmed it was for a foul, not offside.

What a career Navas has had. I'll always have a soft spot for him. I was really impressed with Merino tonight. Scotland played well all things considered. They always seem to play Spain tough and are still in a good position.

It was disallowed for offside not for a foul! 100% correct decision and anyone with two eyes will agree

It's unbelievable how this forum can just make up narratives and run with them lol

[–] SammichNow@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Point me towards any other time where the ref went to the VAR screen to review an offside call. I'll wait.

[–] GR2097@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

The referee checked for a foul and signalled for a foul.

Spain invent something challenge: impossible.

[–] cynical_scotsman@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Don't even give a shite now, but very very very dodgy referring there.

[–] playervlife@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (4 children)

Worst officiating I've seen in Scotland match since the Italy match in 2007.

[–] forsakenpear@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

But the ref also indicated foul with his hand signal.

It was given for a foul, not offside. Do you have donkey brains?

Can you explain how both the VAR and the ref indicated it was a foul, despite apparently having a full discussion between them that it was offside?

[–] hexperson@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Could be a technical/visual mistake by broadcasters. Regardless it was offside
