It was offside though. Regardless of the call the ref made on field it was still offside 😂

Mctomineys goal. Absolute farce to disallow it for a foul on VAR. Absolute farcical.

[–] FootCheeseParmesan@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Robbed. Sheer corruption from the referee.

Spanish stans pretending otherwise because they are still bitter about being skelped months ago.

Nuestros hermanos really getting under their skin.

I was talking about international football. But even with Celtic, any win we can get in Europe is special. Can't imagine what it's like to be a Barcelona or Real Madrid or Bayern Munich supporter. Domestic trophies are a formality and not that exciting unless it's a tight race against our rivals.

Oh so that's how Spain never fucking lose in home qualifiers.

Feed that useless fucking prick ref to the Dutch ultras pls.

[–] bregolad@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Ah yes, when Chiellini earned a free-kick for doing a Rhyno-style gore on our full-back. Takes me back.

This will be a relaxed and level-headed thread

[–] Okuyasu_Nijimira@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah, mine too. But in the end, all the Scottish keyboard warriors got nothing

[–] zrkillerbush@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Erm, this literally does the opposite?

Norway's best chance of going through was Spain losing tonight imo

Tbh they have to beat Spain and Scotland in both situations anyway

[–] GlasgowGunner@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

They want Spain and Haaland there.

[–] Ki18@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Hopefully this Spain team can do us a turn on Sunday then.

[–] GreatSpaniard@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Gay insults from a supposedly progressive country, shame..

[–] Gonchuago@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

They like rugby but they got embarrassed in the World Cup, you can joke about that

[–] jfk9514@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I now understand why people hate VAR. After the Celtic game last week and now this, I’m not sure if I will ever celebrate a goal again.

[–] spawninlumby@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

You should just stop watching sports.

[–] cynical_scotsman@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Celebrate your ignorance

[–] Foreign_Lab6151@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Tbf they do go over if the offside is ambiguous in terms of whether the player is interfering in play. He would have been asked if he was interfering. Whoever it was should have at least been onside for our own freekick and not give them this ammunition

[–] IsleBeeTheir@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Spain didn't do much to dispel Spanish footballs horrendous reputation there. Ref bought into their bullshit too unfortunately. Spain dominated as they should but it's difficult to accept that farse.

[–] GlasgowGunner@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (5 children)

UEFA doing their best to get Haaland to the Euros.

[–] DifferentGravyMan@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (3 children)

If the referee and VAR are in charge of a game of this standard ever again someone isn’t doing their job

Frustrating game. Could've easily got something out of that. Gonnae at least do us a favour and beat Norway on Sunday Spain

[–] Nordie27@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

No I can't, it was really weird that the first replays first seemed to indicate it as a foul. I was as baffled as you

But on the later replays it is a no brainer, clear as day offside. The end decision was correct so what is there to cry about?

[–] Flexspot@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Here for the Scottish tears.

In no world with VAR you can get away with obstructing the goalie's movement on the goal line, while offside.
