Accidentally played video games and raced to get ready to go to work, was worried I'd be late but nope on time.

It's my boss that's late. Was kind of hoping I'd get to go back home.

No pix tonight, but I cooked up a packet of 6 chicken & fetta sangers ready for ramen tomorrow. Only I've eaten four of them already. Sangers, that is. Am eyeing off the last two - will they last until tomorrow?

I'm gonna make this Double chocolate mousse cake. Do you reckon I could leave out the liqueur? Because I reckon it wouldn't make a difference in the actual structure.

Maybe I do a test run first.

Once again I've left the defrosting till too late. I'd be fired by now if I worked at a kitchen.

It's a mercifully rare event now, but this afternoon I had to get on a packed tram in the city. And I thought omg you people are animals for heaven's sake brush your teeth and wear deodorant!

And since I was in the city, I was reflecting on the fact that sadly, the Melbourne CBD overall is lacking character. Maybe that's because I'm familiar with it but if I had someone visit Melbourne the CBD would not be the first place I take them.

Also I hate people and there's just too many fucking people in the CBD.

Not on my bingo card for today was a director in the business trying to convince me that I don't understand my own car's registration. Sure, dude, sure.

I don't understand real estate.

I was looking online for fun and saw this house. https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-tas-forth-141066708

I love how positively haunted it is with the attic and what not. Would be a fun fixer-upper. But it's a dump. It's not liveable. It needs a lot of work. It's not on a lot of land. It's not near anything major in Tasmania (like Hobart or Launceston). The only "benefit" is how old it is.

"Accepting offers over 550k"

I truly don't get how.

Whaddya mean ? It’s right near the bustling metropolis of Devo. Jewel of the North.!

Seriously that’s a decent size plot tho. The house doesn’t look too bad and would really shine with a bit of love. I don’t know the comps to really judge tho.

I would love to have the $$ to buy something like that, renovate the shit out of it and live away from people.

Having said that, probably looking at like 200k in renovations (most likely more). The 550 seems low too considering what properties are going for these days.

So basically about a million to live in bumblefuck.

There is a massive lack of supply of housing in Australia. Very little is government built (unlike the 60s and 70s when govs were pumping cash in building homes), and developers are squeezing all they can out of buyers. Limited quantity of builders as well, so older and established 'gems' are fetching a pretty price.

Shit's fucked

All I want in this life is a balcony to sip my coffee on of a morning and look out at some mountains and trees.

Image of lunch: a tomatoey stew type thing with capsicum, zucchini, onion, garlic, chilli, ginger, cherry tomatoes, broccolini and Briesling sardines, and passata, with a side of white rice. I added the sardines at the end, and seperated a serve with none to take to the office tomorrow for lunch!

I'm quite bored with the culture wars. Honestly though I think the government loves it because it distracts people from issues that are harder to solve ie economy energy climate change housing and so on.

Oh man I'd love to see that! Reminded me a bit of The Hu Band Warning: contains Mongolians, metal, motorbikes and throat singing. You may feel empowered to overthrow invaders after watching it!

Looking to travel in the west/northwest direction this weekend.

Last time we went east.

Any stop recommendations please, less than 100km from the Melbourne CBD and emphasis on nature/forests?

Currently have Mount Macedon and Lerderderg State Park in mind, but will probably just go to one of them.

If I wanted to suggest a change to a traffic light sequence, should I be contacting VicRoads or my local Council? (If it's VicRoads, is there a specific email/contact form I should use? Or do just try the generic contact email and hope for the best?)

[–] prime_factor@aussie.zone 6 points 1 year ago

VicRoads, they nearly all traffic lights for councils, under contract. 13 11 70 goes to traffic management, rather than license inquiries.

SCATS (traffic light software) is usually good at learning traffic patterns, however it can easily be thrown off by one off events (eg knock-off at a footy game).

I'm feeling skittish and translucent.
