"I can't function. I have ADHD."
"No, you have depression!"
"NO, I AM DEPRESSED BECAUSE I CAN'T FUNCTION BECAUSE I HAVE ADHD"
"lol just take some antidepressants that won't help!"
The lighter side of ADHD
"I can't function. I have ADHD."
"No, you have depression!"
"NO, I AM DEPRESSED BECAUSE I CAN'T FUNCTION BECAUSE I HAVE ADHD"
"lol just take some antidepressants that won't help!"
Literally
I'm so sorry.
I hope you're able to find proper support eventually. 🫂
I'm doing alright and I've learned to live with it. Got on adhd meds that have helped a lot. Still trying to find the right depression meds. It's all mild stuff. I call it millennial or garden variety depression. 😂 Thank you for your kind words.
On the flip side, I sometimes get into hyperfocus mode, and can't do anything else but what I'm currently doing. Sometimes it's stuff that is relatively minor in the grand scheme.
Hyperfocus is simply fixating something and being unable to stop doing the task when needed and move to something else depending on the situation. I really wish we had a better mainstream term for this because "hyperfocus" makes it sound like it's something good but in reality it's not good at all. :c
Yeah me too, it can get me in trouble sometimes. What bothers me more is people making dismissive comments about how everybody has adhd these day, completely ignoring the fact that it's often debilitating, and detrimental to most every aspect of your life.
It's especially bad if it's "totally work related" but you have a really big thing you need to do but can't bc ur too busy being obsessed about that "totally work related" thing
Can relate. They should call it Attention Control Deficit Disorder. (Or, really, Executive Function Disorder but anyway...)
All focus and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
I can relate so much!
The really fucked up situation is when you're stuck in this mode to the point of severe burnout because of your environment which you cannot escape in any reasonable amount of time.
This is kind of dark and depressing.
