I don't know how it can happen, I just have a pile of stuff about how messed up Nigeria is + historical reasons for it. This is my problem with the alt media particularly, they only traipse around after the general news narrative. If you want to actually get ahead of it and learn about Kenya, SAfrica, Nigeria, Argentina, Myanmar, Indonesia, etc in depth they will not help you at all. A friend compared it to small business owners painting themselves as opposition to big corporations when they just sit on the sidelines waiting to side with capital if it wins

It would be nice if they actually helped regions without real opposition media groups instead of trying to be the backup MSM that points out hypocrisy in opinion pieces

Yeah just launching an outlet won't do anything either we need to create a real crowd-controlled distribution system parallel to social media. Stuff like lemmy is a baby step
