Insurrectionist traitors who should have been impeached, fired, and sent to federal prison don't get to tell anyone how to behave. New York pays more into federal taxes than it receives, if Trump wants to kill Blue State programs he's about to learn where the tax money comes from.
That's called fascism.

Any state or local gov that is cut off from federal funds without a legal basis shouldn't have to pay federal taxes.

As a New Yorker I would like to see that orange fascist try. I can almost guarantee that if Zohran organizes a workers militia today itll have tens of thousands of volunteers tomorrow. I myself would happily throw arms with federal pigs.

Yanking funding from state and local agencies is almost trivial, thanks to the DOGE infestation of the US Treasury. Quite literally a matter of button-clicks.
The dream of the Unitary Executive under Bush, has finally been realized under Trump 2. Congress simply could not stop handing the Executive branch more and more authority, both implicit and explicit, until now they're effectively superfluous.
The one upside is that - given the state of Trump's BB~~L~~B - there may not be much funding left to pull from NYC by the time they're done gutting the domestic budget.
The executive has so much power because the Republicans in congress are his complete bitches. And they are in charge.
Just take over wall street and cut the trader's communications.

I agree with the sentiment, but it's individuals and businesses paying the federal taxes in NYC. You'd have to somehow get them all to agree to put their personal freedoms at risk by not paying their federal taxes
Donald Trump knows he faces no personal risk by withholding funding, because the SCOTUS has declared him immune. He can break any law with impunity
That's not at all how our financial system works
Well, the IRS uses regional IRS offices which would be easier to disrupt if a large number of states such as KY, MO, and NY participated, and there is some talk of something like that happening soon in WI, NY, MD, and CT as a result of Trump withholding federal funding for programs which were passed by congress.
This definitely isn't a battle Trump would want to escalate if he were smart.
Oh yeah go to war with New York and Cali, see how that goes for you.
