  • Costs $499 or
  • Made in USA

Pick one. You can't have both.

[–] Steve@startrek.website 20 points 1 week ago

Apparently it costs $169 without the T

[–] IllNess@infosec.pub 14 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

* Case made in USA, not the phone.

[–] Zron@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

The awful Trump branding might be laser engraved in America.

Everything else is guaranteed made in Taiwan or china. The US was just barely getting its semiconductor industry back under Biden.

If these things ever ship, I can’t wait for someone to crack one open just to find a bunch of Chinese parts.

Make things bad enough so people work for food.

I’m in favor of anything that makes these dipshits more conspicuous. Trump bumper sticker? There’s no way I’m pulling over to help you if you’re stuck on the side of the road. MAGA hat? Then I don’t have a problem saying no to their perfectly reasonable request.

These people are helping destroy my country, and the Constitution. By continuing to display this propaganda, they’re telling everyone that they’re proud of it. I’ll let them pull themselves up by their bootstraps.

Don’t forget:

  • 1776 strikers
  • Gadston flag stickers
  • tattered flag motifs
  • 3% stickers including the III ones
  • 13 star flags
  • any kind of mailbox lettering
  • all bro dozers
  • nra stickers

Headphone jack

Hey, they didn't fuck everything up!

[–] Fredselfish@lemmy.world 47 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Thats probably because these are old outdated phones that were dump for good reason.

[–] Voroxpete@sh.itjust.works 24 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Except that they're claiming Android 15, USB-C and 12GB of RAM.

No existing device has that combination of features, plus a headphone jack.

This thing is a fantasy, plain and simple. Nothing about it is real.

Now if only Sony would get their shit together and start making a compact version of the Xperia line again.

Man me too these older sony phones that were perfect and compact for the hand

[–] Voroxpete@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Sorry, I meant "that and made in the US", but I get that that's not what I said.

[–] 0ops@lemm.ee 4 points 1 week ago

What phone is made in the US anyway?

[–] Mynameisallen@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 week ago

Fair, I'm just a fan boy evangelizing

[–] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 week ago

They’re morons and don’t know the difference between RAM and Storage. There’s no way it isn’t 128gb storage.

[–] 13igTyme@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Moto G power comes close. 8gb ram, but has the other stuff. I enjoy moto phones.

[–] fne8w2ah@lemmy.world 18 points 1 week ago

About the only redeeming quality of what is otherwise conservative-themed shovelware tbh. 🤣

That's also how you know it's a cheap chinese phone lol, because all the high end flagships don't have headphone jacks (other than Sony I suppose).

[–] Bebopalouie@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 week ago

Don’t forget the code to listen in. You get a twofer. Both the motherboard and rump will add surveillance code to listen in.

[–] krigo666@lemmy.world 28 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Another of The Tramp's scams. If it materializes, I bet it's made in China.

[–] magnetosphere@fedia.io 21 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Anyone who puts down a “deposit” on this should be declared mentally incompetent.

[–] krigo666@lemmy.world 18 points 1 week ago (2 children)
[–] magnetosphere@fedia.io 10 points 1 week ago

That was fast.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Did anyone really expect them to tell the truth? Lets see what the real specs will be. Maybe it is a repackaged Pixel 3 or 4...

[–] Klear@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

It's a Wingtech REVVL 7 Pro 5G according to the article. You can buy a golden one for less than $200.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

From a conman like Trump I expected nothing less but a ripoff.

[–] holycrap@lemm.ee 4 points 1 week ago

I wonder if the Museum of Failure has a deposit in

[–] Fizz@lemmy.nz 12 points 1 week ago

Ew why does it have trumps name all over it. He's actually such a cancer.

[–] gedaliyah@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago

Didn't Escobar Inc. already try this?

Looking forward to the JerryRigEverything video.

[–] jaupsinluggies@feddit.uk 9 points 1 week ago (4 children)

Maybe it's a Samsung phone and a "Made in USA" sticker, shipped in as components and stuck together in the USA, thus fulfilling both "designed" and "made" in USA even though there are some foreign-made components (2). Then onshore those components bit by bit until the process is complete.

[–] Maxxie@lemmy.blahaj.zone 13 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Samsung

It absolutely won't be. Best case It'll be a white label from local Chinese brands like Oppo, worst case -- a no-name company selling 150$ phones on alibaba. I'd put my money on the latter, the margins will be much better.

Great scam for a washed up celebrity with a cult following.

[–] tyler@programming.dev 7 points 1 week ago

It’s a Wingtech REVVL 7 Pro 5G sold for $169 lol.

[–] DrakeAlbrecht@lemm.ee 8 points 1 week ago

Option 2: Lie. When caught, lie about having lied.

[–] tyler@programming.dev 8 points 1 week ago

It’s a Wingtech REVVL 7 Pro 5G sold for $169 lol.

[–] squaresinger@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

"Components" means in this case the phone and the sticker.

[–] tomkatt@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Is this provided via T-Mobile or did he just rip off T-Mobile’s logo font?

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 10 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

He ripped off the font, and some are saying it's a slightly tweaked REVVL 7 Pro 5G, which is a midrange Chinese phone T-Mobile already sells for $170 with a T on the back. Trump's T is a bit bigger. Would be fun to see T-Mobile take legal action...

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 4 points 1 week ago

They're probably in on the scam.

[–] squaresinger@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Don't you know, selling phones is an official presidential act, thus he has immunity.

[–] skulkbane@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

Trump phone is going to join escobar phone.
