Florida Man: “They did this infrastructure bill, and you get the bill and they try to give you money. But then you’ve got to jump through all these hoops,” DeSantis said. “I have to monitor tailpipe emissions for Florida drivers. I am not doing that. I’m not doing the woke roads. I’m not doing any of that.”

Perfect for woke roads.

they try to give you money. But then you’ve got to jump through all these hoops

That’s called a transaction, you shriveled potato. They are giving you money to do the thing. Like when I give my landlord money he has to jump through all sorts hoops like “make sure my apartment is habitable”

Like when I give my landlord money he has to jump through all sorts hoops like “make sure my apartment is habitable”

I don't think that really helps explain anything to psychopaths like DeSantis, TBH. He'd be more like "WTF are you talking about, you pay your landlord because he's entitled to it and you get whatever shithole conditions he deigns to provide."

These fucking people. Woke just means anything that they don’t like. You could say “radical leftist” roads and it would have the same effect. Also, LOL at the idea of roads chanting “Black Lives Matter”. Let’s actually get on that so the Owen Shroyer’s, the Steve Bannon’s, the Jack Pasobeic’s can all gnash their teeth. Maybe they’ll take the DEI Communist train. At least the ads remind them of capitalism even if they have to sit across from a black guy.

A typical welfare queen wants the money but won't do the work.

[–] DropThePot@lemy.lol 23 points 8 hours ago

At times like this, it's fun to replace the word "woke" with "communist" and understand the late 1910s better. 100+ years and all their fear mongering did was change out words.

[–] Archangel1313@lemm.ee 20 points 8 hours ago

Yet more proof that the term "woke" means absolutely anything to these people.

Is he trying to mimic the way Trump speaks?

[–] Archangel1313@lemm.ee 18 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Always has. Just watch his hands. It's all just a rip-off of the original.

Peaked at conception

Fellas, is having breathable air gay?

[–] masterofn001@lemmy.ca 4 points 2 hours ago

If another dude had sex and breathed in the air, you're breathing that dude's sex air.

Breathing is gay.

Jesus H. christ Republicans are just dumb and reactionary. I mean how stupid and cult-minded to associate emissions testing, that other Red as fuck states do, as woke.

When my app listed the top line of this post as "Ron DeSantis rips tailpipe" I imagined him inhaling from the end of a tailpipe like it was a bong. It's the closest I've come to a positive thought about Ron DeSantis in... well, ever.

Has Florida not been doing this? Texas has been testing emissions forever and they hate the Feds more than Florida.

[–] Rhaedas@fedia.io 6 points 8 hours ago

Ron, you know there's reasons why you should be monitoring emissions...oh, right, you're the anti-science guy in a state that has long been affected by the very thing you don't want to talk about. Dumb ass.

The opposite of woke is still asleep, regardless of its use. Close your eyes, Ron. That'll help.

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 2 points 6 hours ago

So he's saying he doesn't want to do his job? Sounds like a sackable offence to me.

Why does this cunt not have aggressive metastatic cancer?

[–] Nougat@fedia.io 3 points 8 hours ago

You mean hoops like how the FCC is threatening to yank broadcast licenses from companies that have DEI programs? Like that?

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 1 points 6 hours ago

He has no idea what a sad, tiny, angry clown he is.

[–] Zess@lemmy.world 1 points 8 hours ago

Wait until he hears about the drinking age and interstate funding.
