Boo
Fuck Subscriptions
Naming and shaming all "recurring spending models" where a one-time fee (or none at all) would be appropriate and logical.
Expect use of strong language.
Follow the basic rules of lemmy.world and common sense, and try to have fun if possible.
No flamewars or attacking other users, unless they're spineless corporate shills.
Note that not all subscriptions are awful. Supporting your favorite ~~camgirl~~ creator or Lemmy server on Patreon is fine. An airbag with subscription is irl Idiocracy-level dystopian bullshit.
New community rule: Shilling for cunty corporations, their subscriptions and other anti-customer practices may result in a 1-day ban. It's so you can think about what it's like when someone can randomly decide what you can and can't use, based on some arbitrary rules. Oh what, you didn't read this fine print? You should read what you're agreeing to.

Imagine going to thrift stores for 15 minutes after work and ending up with all of these on DVD?
Problem is shows like “it’s always sunny” that i wanted to do this with, stopped making physical dvd releases after like season 10. Disney + also removed a bunch of episodes for “being offensive” which if that worries you, why are you watching its always sunny?
Imagine going straight home after work and steaming whatever you want instantly because you have Stremio + Torrentio?
Don’t know what they’re but I would just go to Sonarr and add Southpark and at some point they’ll appear in Plex.
These are some of the best episodes ever. Boo on them for being censors
To be fair, Jared Has Aides was NOT made with the knowledge that Jared did in fact want to give children AIDS
Thanks for letting me know. Bout time for a rewatch.
I went over to my laptop to check if you're downloading the same one I'm seeding
unfortunately not, Im seeding 1-26 and you're downloading 1-21. Would've been funny tho
Thank you for your service
what interface is that?
Running qBittorrent in headless mode (qbittorrent-nox running on my own server) with VueTorrent skin. This is the view in a browser.
oh, I didn't know the qb web interface can be skinned. is it "just" visuals, or can they also add features?
I think its only adding UI features :). I count mobile friendly view as a feature, thought its only a visual change. The one I use.
Can I get headless qbittorrent if setup currently with docker?
Aslo, you chose a damn large file for Southpark.
I run on bare metal because I'm more comfortable with it that way but I think there's regularly updated containers that do just what you want. linuxserver/qbittorrent
looks like a good bet.
Thanks dude.
linuxserver/qbittorrent
Can confirm it works well
75 GB for the whole South Park series doesn't sound like a lot
I guess it depends on preference. When I check in Sonarr the largest file I can see is 35GB but I would have been choosing something around 15GB.
Is the quality 6 times better for the larger one?
Is the quality 6 times better for the larger one?
Probably not, but I tend to download at a quality where the compression doesn't really feel noticeable
Fair point.
Apparently it's because of Paramount Germany. Those episodes had, to quote them, "anti Semitic commentary"
It's only Germany as well, other countries get all of them. Including the United States. This reaction to a Twitter post is overblown. Germany has laws that must be followed that's all
Everyone here is reacting to a random person on Twitter as if they are telling the truth.
No, paramount blocks it in the US too if it gets blocked in Germany, so whilst the right thing to do is to block it for German accounts only, it's not what happens
Most of these replies seem to be missing the reason. Paramount is trying to merge and needs FCC approval and the Trump administration has been using the FCC as a cudgel to keep them in line.
What are in those pulled episodes?
Dont support the service. Plain simple. Well, I know you guys dont, but yea... just my 2 cents nobody asked for :D
When I discovered South Park studios, I legit stopped pirating south park. It was great. Good (enough) quality, access to every episode afaik, and easy to use. Then they switched to Hulu for sps and it went to shit: ads, videos failing to load, ads failing to load in the middle of the video causing it to reset from the beginning, only a few seasons available at any particular time, etc.
Fuck all that shit.
It's especially funny given what Trey Parker and Matt Stone said when they started the South Park Studios site in 2008. From the press release announcing the launch:
When asked about the launch of the new site, Stone and Parker said, “We got really sick of having to download our own show illegally all the time so we gave ourselves a legal alternative.”
I remember that. Deleted all the seasons I had to free up hard drive space, since their website was so good. Ended up being another valuable lesson on why I need to self host my own stuff even if convenient alternatives are available.
Nowadays I never trust a company not to pull the rug out from under me.
It's just a full season of their greatest episodes you're not getting, that's all. Pay up.
People pay to watch nutrek mostly
when the trek stops I unsubscribe. When the blurays come out I rip them to my jellyfin. If they have a big enough gap without trek, they stop getting my money

Time for piracy to make a swift comeback.
Why you're not pirating. You're just training your LLM.
Man South Park used to be one of my favourite shows but I considered it dead when it moved to paramount+ my country didn’t even have access to paramount for like a year, now nobody cares
This is legitimately the exact example I cite when explaining to people why I pirate. It's not just about about stuff being moved around across an ever increasing amount of services. The ability to pretend entire episodes don't even exist(super best friends and 200/201 have been banned for awhile now, long before this) is why I returned to piracy.
The stupidest censorship I’ve seen like this is Community’s first DnD episode. Chang dresses up as a drow and that is considered “blackface” even though they address it in the episode that he isn’t black but a drow. So goodbye episode on streaming.
Never watched this show, but isn't the point of the show basically to be saturatingly offensive? Why would you remove a shotgun-scatter subset of episodes?
