Volunteer, hands down. Local community stuff, create something akin to a co-op public broadcasting channel, spend time with my animals, bake and donate goods.
Ask Lemmy
A Fediverse community for open-ended, thought provoking questions
Rules: (interactive)
1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, and toxicity are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them
2) All posts must end with a '?'
This is sort of like Jeopardy. Please phrase all post titles in the form of a proper question ending with ?
3) No spam
Please do not flood the community with nonsense. Actual suspected spammers will be banned on site. No astroturfing.
4) NSFW is okay, within reason
Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either !asklemmyafterdark@lemmy.world or !asklemmynsfw@lemmynsfw.com.
NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email info@lemmy.world. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
6) No US Politics.
Please don't post about current US Politics. If you need to do this, try !politicaldiscussion@lemmy.world or !askusa@discuss.online
Reminder: The terms of service apply here too.

I don't think I'd ever leave the makerspace.
A podcast about the pre-columbian Americas which in all honesty would be a Hardcore History knockoff.
I would walk my dog, lift weights, study foreign languages, help my community
I would still be programming. Just that it would be the projects I want to do, instead of the ones my employer wants to do.
Streamer but in like a chill way, no subs
Beat on red hot metal with a hammer, and fly hot air balloons.
So all that would change is that my basic needs would actually be met.
Knowing me, do what I normally do in my free time, but hopefully actually get projects done.
I'd have plenty of time to play games, watch my shows, listen to CDs/music, hopefully finish a project I started on Wattpad or another program, and spend time learning coding to help with my NeoCities site and some other projects I wanna work on but don't know enough to make become a realiety.
I would become an author and write plenty of fiction, poems, short stories. I might also get into game development. And if time permits, I would even pick up on astronomy.
Fish
I'd follow Phish in concert
Probably continue to work in transpiration with special needs school kids. My job isn't so much about money to me at this point I'm deeply emotionally invested.
You know those people who restore old machinery and equipment? Locomotives, historic warships, industrial sites and so on? I'd absolutely be dedicating my day to that. There's something so satisfying about seeing that old stuff work, but they're always chronically understaffed and struggling to keep up with everything.
Oh, and write a novel.
Still work but at a reduced rate and else I would actually think about volunteering or improving my living conditions like a garden or tech at gome :)
Would study and do arts and use our findings and research to help improve the world in some kind of way, even if its a little.
Move to Canada, Europe, or Aus/NZ.
Most likely scroll through Lemmy and play video games, pursue hobbies.
Travel, meet with friends, play video games, watch some movies.
I'd probably teach something like scuba diving.
play more games learn to draw maybe pick up a new language.
Join a 3rd band, I guess.
Study more JiuJitsu and physiotherapy for poor people.
I'd make a lot of paintings, learn how to animate, compose a gigaton of music, make a graphic novel, collect analog synths and various folk instruments, gaze at the stars, go camping a lot, make a garden of native plants, design my house to be optimal and asestically pleasing, read a lot of books, spend time with friends, host a server or two. And travel. Lots of travel but I'd do travel where I stay in one place for months as opposed to multiple in a couple of weeks so that I could really absorb the culture.
I would build affordable housing.
I'd make things like drones or robots or something.
I'd be one of those old school naturalists and just, like, go live in a swamp for three years with one pair of clothes, a cot, a journal, and a pencil.
I'd spend more time playing guitar and chess and spend more time with my son.
Kung fu, charitable volunteering, and any intellectual challenge I could take on.
I'd dive fully into circuitboard electronics
Sounds like it would have to be free or low cost hobby. So probably I'd go hiking, and camping while reading books and making coffee with my aeropress
Basically yurucamp. A nice cosy anime. You should watch it
If there's somehow a way in this utopia scenario to also maintain a moped like a Honda supercub or vespa, add that as well as I cruise around between hiking and camp sites
Yes I can do that right now but you know how it is what it is
write music and go fishing
Make video games or digital interactive art pieces for VR
