I know nothing of the guy outside of being Deion's son, never seen him play.

I looked him up and saw pictures of his $² logo.

I immediately thought that it was more about his brand and money than of the sport or team.

I could be wrong, and there may be something else that cost him, but that was a red flag. That might've worked with Deion in the 90s, but this is an NFL QB position where you are supposed to lead. Wait until after you get the job and prove yourself before you sell yourself.

He is a good QB. His best comp is Kyler Murray. Shifty, poised, cool under pressure, can run, got an arm, accurate, improvises well. Hangs onto the ball too long trying to make big plays. But, like poster below said, he's too full of himself. Teams may have assessed that he isn't coachable. What if the only man who can coach him is his dad?

The poor kid had no chance to be a decent humble person. He was raised and coached by Deion his entire life. He was always told he was the best, could do no wrong, and deserved as much money as possible. Anybody that tries to give him perspective is immediately attacked by the people around him that need him to keep making money.

Wow Milroe goes to Seahawks!

[–] RandAlThor@lemmy.ca 3 points 8 hours ago

LOL The MOST anticipated 3rd round pick ends with whimper. with their 3rd round pick, Steelers select Kaleb Johnson, RB.

My god. Shedeur is dropping to 3rd it seems at half way mark and no team with QB need is left in 2nd round. Seems like all the QBs out there yet there aren't a lot of teams with QB needs. If Richardson was a 1st round pick, Milroe is same type player, but likely won't be picked till 3rd or after. Ewers and McCord are good young QBs with all the tools and in the right system will make decent QBs in time. I'm not sold on Howard. Leonard is a project. He can't throw for crap. But seems to have that magic about him. If someone can teach him to throw, he'd be pretty good.

It'll be funny if Shedeur drops to 3rd round. To Steelers lol

As a fan of a B12 team, shadeur has some very nice throws, but no leadership skills and never struck me as a someone who could elevate his teammates. The taking sacks to avoid incompletions also felt very real, though I guess it could have been well-intentioned hero ball. He is what he is. A second round talent with sub-UFL intangibles, so will see where he lands.

[–] njm1314@lemmy.world 4 points 10 hours ago

I think Scouts and teams are just very conscious of the fact that that program and that team was run in a way to make him look good. Artificially so at times perhaps, and at the cost of everything else.

[–] RandAlThor@lemmy.ca 3 points 11 hours ago

He has the tools. I think holding onto the ball thing can be coached out of him. BUT, he's so full of himself I am NOT sure he is coachable. He's like a much worse version of Kyler Murray.
