he's depressed because as a millionaire he made slightly less money

i'm depressed because i'm queer and autistic and a rich evil fuck in government is killing queer helplines and putting autistic people on kill lists.

we are not the same

[–] BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.world 6 points 23 minutes ago

If the news could just never pay any attention to that little freak again all would be well in the world. I'd also love it if Lemmy could stop posting stuff about him!

[–] Itdidnttrickledown@lemmy.world 24 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

Hit him right in the wallet. He keeps it in his heart.

[–] tankplanker@lemmy.world 6 points 35 minutes ago

Yeah, this fucks him personally, as so much of his wealth is tied up in Tesla shares. Tanking Tesla directly tanks Elons wealth.

He cannot sell large tracts of shares without further depressing share price and his usual trick of promising random bullshit like self driving taxis or cars that deliver themselves does not work anymore to boost share price before he sells some off.

[–] Lucky_777@lemmy.world 1 points 4 minutes ago

Maybe he'll hit that threshold, and his kids he never sees will get a ton of money. Wouldn't that be something

[–] easily3667@lemmus.org 1 points 17 minutes ago

..it brings on many changes...

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 60 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

these contrived reports of him quitting politics or being depressed to try to get some sympathy and stop the stock selling are pathetic. He's never cared about anyone else, even his own children, and he still absolutely does not. He's a spoiled psycopath who thinks he can manipulate people.

I wonder how many people will have to die for Elon's self driving taxi Hubris in Austin for Texas to pull authorization. As I understand it, the Texas state government hates the City and Its residents. I expect it to be atleast a 9/11s worth.

[–] vvilld@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 26 minutes ago

Good for him!

[–] hellfire103@lemmy.ca 39 points 3 hours ago
[–] Bieren@lemmy.world 27 points 3 hours ago

Of course he is. His stocks are extremely overvalued and he has leveraged them to hell and back.

[–] Scott_of_the_Arctic@lemmy.world 43 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Maybe he should kill himself.

[–] stembolts@programming.dev 36 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Say what you want about Hitler, but he killed Hitler.

[–] ARk@lemm.ee 2 points 53 minutes ago
[–] ExtantHuman@lemm.ee 15 points 2 hours ago

Good. He's actively making the world a worse place for everyone else. He should feel bad.

There's not really any news in that article.

Notably, Musk said he would be stepping back from DOGE after May but didn’t go into any detail about what that would mean. Even though he said he would be easing up on his involvement, the billionaire said that he would remain in the government through President Trump’s entire term,

This is meaningless.

[–] Modern_medicine_isnt@lemmy.world 13 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

And do you know how to know it is meaningless... it starts with "musk said". Everything after that is worthless.

[–] dellish@lemmy.world 4 points 1 hour ago

Even the word "notably" before that is useless. Notably something un-notable occurred. Great, thanks.

[–] randon31415@lemmy.world 18 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

stepping back from DOGE after May

Appointed temporary government employee which means he only could work until June without congressional approval. Set this up from the start to take heat off of Trump and allow Trump to seem reasonable compared to Musk when Trump 'fires' him in June.

[–] null_dot@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 4 hours ago

I'm aware of that, but obviously the concept of "work" doesn't apply to Musk as it does to government employees generally.

He will have the same influence and whatever level of involvement he wants regardless of whether he's a temporary government employee, a consultant, or just a contact.

Hey Elon, keep yourself safe!

[–] Coelacanth@feddit.nu 8 points 1 hour ago

Or you know, don't.

[–] AnitaAmandaHuginskis@lemmy.world 35 points 5 hours ago* (last edited 5 hours ago)

Well, that really is uplifting news. For me that is, not for that fuckhead.

[–] SouthEndSunset@lemm.ee 13 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

He’s leaving Trumps team to spend more time at Tesla. The one thing that would benefit Tesla is him spending less time there.

[–] lagoon8622@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 hours ago

The board should have replaced him a long time ago

"Oh no! The consequences of my actions!"

Nah fuck this guy. We need to make Nazis unforgivable again. None of this halfway bullshit or trying to see their side of the story.

[–] superkret@feddit.org 28 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

He will never feel any external consequences.
Best we can hope for is a bout of depression that'll make him do something we all won't regret.

[–] TommySoda@lemmy.world 23 points 7 hours ago

I want him to lose it so badly that he starts blaming this administration for everything that happened to him and starts going off against them. That'd be hilarious.

[–] Axle182@lemmy.world 44 points 6 hours ago

It's a start but we can do better, guys

[–] AidsKitty@lemmy.world 6 points 4 hours ago

Building a business and getting involved in politics is financial suicide 99% of the time. It's one thing to work behind the scenes but to be the poster boy is just reckless. It is a tragic situation because Tesla was the only EV company in competition with the Chinese and now the Chinese will dominate global EV sales.

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 39 points 7 hours ago (5 children)

Oh no, please don't hang yourself Mr Elmo, that would be such a waste of good rope.

[–] Olhonestjim@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

Not if we reuse it.

extremely

yet, not enough, if his troglodyte head still has the same amount of stupid holes.

[–] ModernRisk@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

Can’t read the article due to being at work but the title makes me smile. His actions actually have consequences. However, I’m curious whether it actually ‘hits’ his wealth.

Wow. I mean, just wow...my new socks are really soft and cushy.

Also, I agree.

[–] Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world 5 points 4 hours ago

Nothing beats a fresh sock.

[–] tacocatgoat@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

Refreshing news!

[–] selkiesidhe@lemm.ee 21 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

You are a piece of shit and now everyone in the entire world knows it. There's no coming back.

With all that money and influence you had the chance to make a real difference but instead you decided to be a greedy disgusting fuck.

No one gives a shit about you. Go to Mars and live out your pathetic existence.

[–] rimu@piefed.social 8 points 5 hours ago

Yeah there's really no coming back from this. He could go to work at Testa 14 days per week and it wouldn't make any difference. That brand is toast.
