Note that I haven't looked through all these so I don't necessarily endorse any of them, but it's posted for discussion if the choices are good or not; this wiki came from a post on the itjustworks BIFL community:

this list seems to me mostly centered around the US. Are there any alternatives for Europe?

I think that's a great observation about localization and maybe work could be done on creating more lists for other locations if it has too much of a U.S.-centric focus

Looks very cool, but how do we know the list is trustworthy?

Yeah, I'm always weary of any list of products to buy.

If it's a wiki where's the edit feature, or an invite to contribute?

This looks to be well researched but by one person. There are weird limitations (only one brand of kitchen knives? That's a bold move!), very US centric, and very male centric.

Open it up wiki style and it will be useful. I'd love citations pointing to authentic discussions, too. Right now it's not much more than other best-of BIFL sites out there.

I believe that in order to edit, you'd submit a pull request to https://github.com/BitEU/Buy. Someone else has recently done just that.
