Russia on Wednesday accused Ukraine’s Western allies of helping plan and conduct last week’s missile strike on the Black Sea Fleet’s headquarters on the annexed Crimean Peninsula.

“There is no doubt that the attack had been planned in advance using Western intelligence means, NATO satellite assets and reconnaissance planes and was implemented upon the advice of American and British security agencies and in close coordination with them,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a briefing.

Moscow has repeatedly claimed that the U.S. and its NATO allies have effectively become involved in the conflict by supplying weapons to Ukraine and providing it with intelligence information and helping plan attacks on Russian facilities.

Remember when US intelligence announced ahead of the invasion that Russia was going to invade based on false pretenses?

Providing Ukraine with intelligence about the invasion literally predates the invasion.

So, let me get this straight.

Russia is upset that Ukraine's allies are acting like, well allies.

[–] avater@lemmy.world 56 points 1 year ago

yep we did, now go and fuck yourself Russia.

They lost their navy to a country that doesn't have one.

They really should just pack up and go home.

[–] Jaysyn@kbin.social 13 points 1 year ago (2 children)

They lost the flagship. The rest of the Black Sea fleet still needs to be destroyed.

I've read that those ATACMS they are about to receive can do just the trick too.

Current count is 5 patrol boats, 5 landing ships, 1 cruiser (Moskva), 1 sub, 1 corvette, 1 rescue tug and 1 minesweeper if Wikipedia is to be believed

[–] HikingVet@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 1 year ago

it as up to date as any western source can be.

[–] Burn_The_Right@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Wikipedia is how Russian command gets its intel, so...

[–] HikingVet@lemmy.sdf.org 3 points 1 year ago

A few more than that. Losses on both sides since 2014 which is a significant amount.

Yeah if they can get a target lock on the Ruzzian ships the ATACMS would definitely take them out.

So you're saying military aggression sucks, but only when it happens to you? Wow. You were so close to empathy.

[–] HubertManne@kbin.social 24 points 1 year ago

I mean it was crimea so it technically was not even happening to them. I mean its not their land or water rights.

[–] Aurenkin@sh.itjust.works 41 points 1 year ago

Yeah, Ukraine has better friends than you. Now fuck off home.

[–] Unaware7013@kbin.social 41 points 1 year ago

Awww, does the big bully not like that their victim has friends smarter than them?

If you don't want shit, don't start shit.

[–] Jaysyn@kbin.social 40 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Yeah we did it.

So fucking what?

You gonna cry?

You gonna fuck around & find out what a 3-day war actually looks like?

[–] jumperalex@lemmy.world 38 points 1 year ago

OH! NO!

Anyway.

[–] cabron_offsets@lemmy.world 27 points 1 year ago

Fuckin a, I hope we help them sink russian shit.

[–] Ranvier@sopuli.xyz 23 points 1 year ago

Well yeah probably. Not exactly a secret that the United States and Europe help coordinate with Ukraine and help provide intel. Sounds like Russian soldiers may have been of assistance too in this specific case.

[–] Clent@lemmy.world 22 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yeah, so?

What the fuck are they going to do about it?

I dare them to declare war on a NATO country.

[–] Burn_The_Right@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Came here to say this. Shit or get off the pot, Pootin'.

The chances of a Russian ICBM making it to any destination with effect is quite low. Aside from decades of black market stripping of parts and fuel, there are many who won't turn the key because they don't want to erase their own families (likely being unaware that other launches have been ordered).

Good job! Here's a cookie 🍪

[–] Kekzkrieger@feddit.de 21 points 1 year ago

I thought it wasn't a big deal since nothing happened at the headquater and nobody was injured or anything and if anything the great russian air defence surely caught all attempts to harm the headquaters

Aww, it's so nice to be appreciated.

[–] Laughbone@lemmy.world 16 points 1 year ago

Haven’t they been saying the whole time the west is involved, what’s the difference?

[–] ZapBeebz_@lemmy.world 15 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Does Moscow want to involve Article 5? Because it sure as hell sounds like Moscow wants to invoke Article 5.

I hope we're guilty as accused.

[–] HikingVet@lemmy.sdf.org 7 points 1 year ago

Nato has been giving Ukraine intelligence since the "3 day special military operation" started

[–] Honytawk@lemmy.zip 14 points 1 year ago
