If people are being sent to death camps over a shirt, I think it doesn't matter since we'll all end up there anyway.

It just move you up the line a bunch. “Homegrown” is next. I’m pretty sure that’s short for homegrown terrorists, which they or homeland dept likes can define as anyone at all.

I'm marked for the camps regardless of what I say or do, so it makes no difference to me. I'll ask my family and their friends that lived through these things in the past if it mattered to them if they were the first or the last on the trains, and if they think keeping silent would have saved the ones who were murdered in the end.

How did your family escape the fate of the others? Did they leave? I would have left already, but I have the economic problem of a family and elder care, plus gender and ethnic luxury to “weight and see” a bit longer. I’m trying to wait for the midterm election, as it will be the best life sign of our democracy, but I’m not very confident.

Some left early. Some were put in camps and tattooed with numbers, and were liberated later.

I’m glad they survived, I’m hoping for the best for you too, and will do what I can. Good luck.

one does like structured arguments that make good use of bullet points.

This isn't frightening? Don't 16 year olds think everyone's a fascist?
