Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Summary

Elon Musk condemned rising vandalism against Tesla, blaming the political left and suggesting a conspiracy against him.

He cited incidents of arson, gunfire, and property destruction at Tesla dealerships, linking them to protests against his work with DOGE.

Trump and the DOJ have labeled the attacks "domestic terrorism," vowing arrests.

Some Tesla owners are selling their vehicles or adding bumper stickers distancing themselves from Musk, who defended Tesla as a "peaceful company," saying "I've never done anything harmful."

I wonder if he actually beleives that

[–] Houseman@lemmy.world 12 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (1 children)

He only hurt government NPCs. He is the only brain in a jar in this system we are all computer programs.

[–] gamer@lemm.ee 5 points 5 days ago (1 children)

He's got protagonist syndrome.

Ya know... I could see him thinking all his bad jokes, and online antics don't hurt anyone (not true) but the dude is decimating the federal workforce, he can't honestly believe he hasn't done anything to garner that hate. That's people's livelihoods.

[–] quack@lemmy.zip 7 points 5 days ago

I don’t think he believes in anything beyond accumulating as much wealth as possible at whatever cost.

[–] Goodmorningsunshine@lemmy.world 20 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I mean, forget the dismantling of the United States of America. Even without that, he sued into oblivion and made it untenable wherever possible to even get recompense from Tesla after the cars self-crashed or self-destructed. Musk is a walking, talking pile of shit harming everyone wherever he can. He made a person saving miners out to be a pedophile. He names his fucking kid an unpronounceable series of letters and numbers. This man is a fucking shouldabeenabort plaguing the whole world.

Elon reciting the first line of The Narcissist’s Prayer.

[–] oyzmo@lemmy.world 12 points 5 days ago

One would think the world's richest man could afford a mirror....

Pro tip:

Don't let narcissists become CEO, president, or anything with a remote inch of power. They'll rob you blind, let you die and then turn around and say "I was such a good guy, wasn't I? Now kiss my ring to show how you feel about me" and then be all screeching if you bite his finger off

I'm shocked at the number of open Nazis in American "leadership". And the number of unelected "officials" tearing up our government from the inside.

"If you ignore the staggering amount of human misery that I am directly and indirectly responsible for, and all the absolutely appalling things I advocate for, I've never done anything harmful."

The fundamental weakness of Western civilization is empathy [for the rich.]

[–] datendefekt@feddit.org 14 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

Poor man meets rich man and they look at each other. Says the poor man, were I not poor, you'd not be rich!

Yeah, it's a conspiracy fuck-face. It's not like people are openly saying you suck, you're a leech, we're going to boycott the companies you're involved with and you're not wanted here. It's all a secret conspiracy. Pay no attention to the signs at very public protests.

[–] Vopyr@lemmy.world 9 points 6 days ago

People like him do harmful things and act like they're the most important people on Earth, but when the boomerang comes right back at them, they crawl around and cry that they did nothing wrong. PATHETIC.

[–] ZILtoid1991@lemmy.world 7 points 6 days ago (2 children)

Not harmful for him or his fellow billionaires...
