Great. I did so as well. An alternative (also to eBay) is hood.de (https://www.hood.de/). At least for Germans. I recently placed my first order and it worked well (although the shipping time was longer).

Haven’t used Amazon in years. There is an online shop for everything out there. The only thing you loose is the storefront that knows too much about you and tries to make you buy and buy and buy!
I’d love to learn how many people have cancelled their connection to Amazon in the last two months. I keep hearing stories of people doing it, across many social media platforms.
People survived when they had to drink straight out the river. You'll survive without amazon.
Hehe, yeah, I won't look back.
I downloaded all my user data before account deletion. I was shocked how many orders came together in > 10 years. I definitely gave too much money to Amazon.
Yeah i closed my account as well. Fuck them. Once you're out and the convenience ist gone, you really dont mind it that much.
Otto.de is pretty good for boring stuff (towels, kitchen stuff, etc.).
You’ll be fine. I’m American and haven’t used that shit for a very long time, it’s easy to do without it
Closed my 18 year old account last week and I don't miss it at all. I will shop local or buy direct from the brand.
Is there a way to get my audio books out of Audible before I delete my accounts?
Yeah, use something like https://getlibation.com/
I bookmarked it and try it out once I'm back home. Thank you!
I just did this with Libation like a few weeks ago. Worked like a charm with Macbook. Theres's also this one, but I haven't tried it: https://audible-tools.github.io/
Edit: Shoutout for Smart AudioBook Player
Can confirm. Libation is amazing. Easy to use and just works.
I think you can just download them straight from the website.
Not possible.
What are your alternatives?
galaxus.de - the swiss Amazon is growing in Germany currently
Interesting! I'll take a look at that.
Otto.de
Yeah, Otto.de could be a comfortable alternative for everyday stuff.
But for special things I will also compare prices on geizhals.de and then I know, where to buy it.
Order from the manufacturer
