New to Lemmy, but looking to assist in community building in the west end of Toronto. I have a variety of useful organisational and technical skills that I would like to contribute to helping those in my community.

I'm in the east so it's not my hood, but if you're into it, there's an event at Scadding Court community centre on the 22nd that'd be a fab place to find people interested in the common good. https://torontourbangrowers.org/events/scadding-court-seedy-saturday-2025 Worst case scenario, you go home with some pamphlets and a seed packet.

If you're new to the city and not sure where to start, my absolute favourite Toronto group The Stop (no affiliation) will have people there. But if food security isn't your thing, Repair Cafe will be there, possibly Free Geek (another gem)...
