And people say the Kremlin doesn't have a sense of humor.

Just like Netinyahooo gifting Tump a golden pager...bags of laughs them lot!

Look at how thrilled they are to receive their reminder that their sons were sent into a metaphorical meat grinder.

Assuming this is real, this just adds one more thing for Russia to be ashamed of

Near as I can tell, TVPWorld is not a parody news site. It should probably have been posted to NottheOnion instead.

[–] heavydust@sh.itjust.works 9 points 2 days ago

I'm not Polish but I do remember that TVP is a regular TV station.

Besides asking if it is real, shouldn't we be asking if "meat grinder" carries the same connotation in the Russian language.

In the articles it describes how the russian politicians responsible are getting flak and trying to backpeddle/cover up the issue so clearly language works here.

Shortly after the start of the conflict, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov gave the families of deceased servicemen sacks of potatoes and onions, along with a bottle of oil.

These Russian politicians look at "those plebs" exactly like how ceos look at workers. Amazing.

[–] doo@sh.itjust.works 6 points 2 days ago

Yes, the word is used for both meanings. I doubt ruskies are using it to describe their tactics, though.

Sounds like bullshit but I believe it.

I understand they’re lucky to know the whereabouts at all.

Fucking LOL. Holy shit. That’s incredible.

Do not worry. Though we send your husband to meat grinder, we will give you meat grinder as compensation.

Guys in the comments: this is a cross post from the onion.

[–] gressen@lemm.ee 11 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The link is from a serious site. If anything it should be posted to c/nottheonion

[–] GregorGizeh@lemmy.zip 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Weird that it was posted to the onion then

[–] zabadoh@ani.social 2 points 2 days ago

TVP World is a real Polish news organization.

[–] tomenzgg@midwest.social 3 points 2 days ago

Thought that was Ellie Kemper in the preview images and was really confused.

In former Soviet Russia, gift gets you!
