Finally watched Dune and Dune Part 2 this week. Pretty good films!

My son and I are about 1/3 of the way through The Office (US). Pretty funny!

Dune and Dune Part 2

Something I need to add to my list and finally watch. Funny enough, I never read the books either, even though back when I was still reading a lot more (mostly sci-fi), it was regularly praised and recommended.

Been catching up on All Creatures Great and Small (Masterpiece on PBS) to counter the world’s chaos.

Currently busy with my fifth (I think, I've actually lost track now) watch of everything in the Ghost in the Shell franchise (excluding the live action movie). Usually I end with my favourite, Stand Alone Complex, but this time I started with it. Currently about half way through 2nd Gig, once I've watched Solid State Society, I'm going to follow it up with my second ever watch of SAC 2045, hoping that I like it more the second time.

The new Dexter, which is fine and the new Lady Parts which is fantastic.

I'm also checking out something that I wasn't sure I would like but I'm quite enjoying: Solo Leveling. It's just the description is so generic and done, but the execution was fantastic (up to the third episode, can't vouch for the breast.)

Watched the new condor hero’s movie. It was 6/10 okay.

Just ripped through The Recruit season one to be ready for season two Light and breezy spy drama which I got to say is fun and just serious enough to be worth watching Aside from that I decided to hit the wayback and watch the first season of Columbo Fuck the late 60 were a time! And Peter Faulk was a serious star from the start I’m really digging it As the first season was all ‘movie of the week’s it’s nice seeing a whole story in a tight 90 minutes that still feels full

Severance ofc, and in between that I started watching Silo, kinda a worse fallout but at least it scratches that itch for a sci-fi show.

Gave episode 1 of The Pitt a chance. I usually hate medical dramas because I have to yell at the screen about inaccuracies. The whole vibe is usually wrong.

This one is, I grudgingly have to admit, solid. Pretty real, actually. Maybe a little too real for people with squeamish stomachs. I even cheered twice when they said the systemic problems out loud.

Only had 3 issues with it, which is great. A doctor isn’t going to run down the street after anyone, especially not a non patient. Potassium 6.1 is no bueno. And no administrator would debase herself among the riffraff, worse, risk her pretty pink suit, by coming down to the patient care area to talk to someone. She’d summon people to her clean, quiet office instead. The artistic license works there though because it conveys what needs to be conveyed about hospital administrators, including the blatant disregard she shows all of the human suffering unfolding around her.

They cram a lot of pertinent info into one little episode. Noah Wylie of ER (terrible medical show) is recycled here. And Homelander is in it as a normal person.

Great! I was on the fence on this show for the exact same reasons.

And do you mean Omlandah? Fantastic actor in Banshee.

What’s the point of movies if there is a showsandmovies com?

Started "Night Gallery" recently, and it's surprisingly good, if you're into Rod Serling.

This particular episode was fantastic:

They're Tearing Down Tim Riley's Bar

Watched Monkey Man starring/directed by/written by Dev Patel.

Very very good. People say it's "Indian John Wick," but from a style and color standpoint, it stands on its on just fine.

Unfortunately, we watched Section 31.

It was mediocre at best as a movie, and horrible as a star trek movie.

There's also been some psych reruns in heavy rotation by me wife and kid, which means I've caught some of that. I don't like binging shows, so I mostly ignore it, which means I've enjoyed the parts I've caught.

Barbarian Alien Romulus Juror #2

Ordered by most favored. Juror #2 is the only one that fell a little flat for me. It felt a bit too much like a script playing out. Like the writers were in the room.

The other two were great. Barbarian has to be seen. Alien Romulus was a nice and I want to see a sequel. I binged all the other Alien movies about a month ago to get to it. The prior four, being all different shades of bad, made this a really nice breath of fresh air. It wasn't perfect but it also held hope.

I've watched people on Lemmy be fucking assholes toward any mention of tobacco
