Anyone else feeling lukewarm about us possibly getting Ollie Watkins? If this was a couple of years ago I'd be all for it. And he's still a quality player. But for over 60 million when he's 29 years old... it feels like we'd be over-paying. That's assuming they even accept an increased bid anyway.
I don't think we are, there's no way they'd sell given the progress they're having this season.
Also apparently they're selling Duran to the Saudis? No way they sell both in the same window, let alone the same season.
I'm hoping this is a smoke screen for a bid for a different player.

When I read about United utterly fucking over their future financially and talent-wise in order to sign mediocre to terrible players to huge contracts, I say yes.
and yet they're still spending comparably to us....
If the Swiss Ramble numbers are accurate, they're constantly taking out massive loans to cover the interest from previous loans as well as for transfers/wages. I'm okay with not bankrupting the club.

Tin foil hat time, I think it's the same thing that Chelsea did with the Saudi league bailing them out last summer. They've got backdoor connections and they're not afraid to use them.

I read this article in the Arseblog AFCW newsletter the other day and it made me tut. The Walsh news/rumour makes it even worse.
Their depth really is insane, but it never seems like their players are unhappy with their game time. Depth really is an issue with our entire club, but it seems like we like to sign effing no one.
