Ancient faith today!

Paganism refers to modern revival of ancient (mostly polytheist) faith from Europe, Middle East and North Africa, and the movements surrounding it. The purpose of this community is to provide a space for discussion and sharing of experiences, art and advice among pagans. By "recon" I mean keeping as close to the original practice and by reviv I mean adapting the practice to the modern age

Reconstructionist with no specific need to do things exactly as they were a thousand years ago. I'm not going to slaughter a sheep in my back yard (not even legal to do anyway). I will pour some water or other offerings.

But I do not stray so far from what we know about the historical worship practices that I would be able to say "work with" or incorporate the beliefs into something Wicca-esque or New Age-y.

So, somewhere in between the two, but leaning towards reconstruction.

More constructionist than "re"constructionist. I accept that a lot of practices, especially in Wicca, are not ancient. And I'm ok with that. It's much better for a spiritual path to be relevant than to become a pointless collection of rituals.
