  • This still needs to pass the Senate and be signed by the President to become law
  • If it does become law, it allows deportation based on accusation, rather than conviction
  • Current law requires allows for deportation if convicted of two different non-violent crimes

The house will vote on immigration bills that they know are going to pass with democrats to ensure their voting record can’t be attacked for being weak on immigration for reps in tightly contested districts.
