Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Imagine spending all your time and energy preventing someone from going to the bathroom.

Their entire platform is based on control.

Don't forget the part where they ideologically oppose the gov and claim that "free market" for-profit economics of corporate dictatorship will cure what ails ya.

If they do their jobs and don't actively sabotage the gov people might figure out the grift; that they are greedy narcissistic criminals financed by private for-profit interests to destroy democracy and extract wealth from the people...

But think of the children (who don't even use those bathrooms) /s

[–] lurch@sh.itjust.works 15 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Even if the children would use it:

  • womens bathrooms have stalls only, so the children won't see trans womens genitals.

  • trans men can't practically use the urinal until they had bottom surgery and therefore have to use the stalls in the mens room as well.

The only thing left is them implying all trans people are rapists, which is as absurd as implying it for all cis people.

I mean, a stand to pee (STP) device is a thing. They even market them for cis women. They’re pretty common among trans men, but I’ve never used them because I’m squeamish about stuff with piss on it, and also don’t want to miss and piss myself in public.

Some look really unrealistic (basically an angled spout on a cup), some look moderately realistic (the spout is flesh colored and penis sized/shaped), and some are made out of silicone, highly sculpted, realistically colored, and you’d never know it wasn’t a penis.

If someone’s kid is even able to notice the fine details of someone’s genitals or how they’re pissing at a urinal, it’s time to have a talk about where to keep your eyes when you’re in the bathroom, anyway ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's almost like they don't want to address any real political issues.

I mean, segregation was a pretty big thing in this nation...

Piss and vinegar, actually. I have suboptimal dietary habits.

[–] intresteph@discuss.online 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

……….where does the vinegar come out of?

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Nowhere. That's why I'm getting so full of it.

[–] intresteph@discuss.online 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

You’re practically pickled.

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Question I put to anyone supporting this...

Why would you ban Buck Angel from using the mens room?

[–] mlfh@lemmy.sdf.org 32 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

They do actually want to ban Buck Angel from using the men's room, and this is the point I always use to illustrate the real hatred underlying this issue. They want people like Buck to be forced into the choice between facing arrest for using one bathroom, or facing violence for using the other. That's the only point of these measures - to make violence and legal threat the only two options available.

The goal is to ban trans people from existing in public.

Now, make a bill that all Republicans must share the same trough style urinal. Male, female, man, woman.

Edit: in addition, all Republicans must subject themselves to inspection for genital verification just because.

Shape, size, defects, disease, estimated mileage, and other attributes shall be tracked and logged in a public database.

Attempts to use a bathroom in a different state shall be a criminal offense.
