Happy Thanksgiving Weekend!

Playing Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout. The game is very chill, but bosses have a difficulty spike. There was a mini boss before that killed me couple of times, then had to go back and use all tools in my arsenal to beat it. Same thing happened with this boss. Was breezing through everything, then half way through the boss battle he did an attack and everyone died.

Not a big deal though, there are few equipment upgrades I can do but skipped because I ran out of specific materials and since game was already pretty easy so didn't bother with them. Going to gather the materials now.

Started (and finished) Superhot, it's the most innovative shooter I have played in years. Got it as PS+ monthly game a while back but hadn't gotten around to it yet.

Game is a low-poly first person shooter where time moves only when you move. Plays more like a puzzle than a shooter, or well, at least felt like that to me. Everyone, including you, is one hit kill, so you have to avoid the bullets and kill all the enemies. When someone dies you can just pick their weapon from the air before it falls down, pretty fun.

Also, it's a pretty short game, finished it in a single sitting, took me less than couple of hours.

Finally got Age of Empires 4 on Steam autumn sale! Have been meaning to get this (or AoE 2) since I upgraded my laptop, finally got 4 yesterday on sale. Used to play Age of Empires a lot in my younger days, specially 2. Had tons of LAN parties, so looking forward to get into it again. Was never a great PvP player though, so going to stick to single player for now.

What about all of you? What have you been playing?

Just started Bug Fables!

Otherwise, more hours into Vampire Survivors

Have heard good things about Bug Fables. How are you liking it?

So far, it's good. Art is cute, characters interesting and gameplay engaging. Its very similar to old Paper Mario games. I picked it up for sale $10 and it is exactly what I needed this time (simple game, on the more upbeat side).

Doom and gloom of the world has been getting to me lately so the escape was needed. No super serious games ATM

I haven't played any Zelda this week, that slot has been all Lightning Returns. The Wildlands have just really gotten to me, though I think I have taken it too far. There is this interesting mechanic that only works because the game runs on a time limit: You can fight monsters to extinction. Fight enough monsters of a kind and a beefed up version called the Last One appears, literally the last survivor of its species. And then that monster type is gone from the game! I may have kept time frozen for too long, the Wildlands aren't very wild anymore which leaves me with fewer means to freeze time later when I might need it.

I finished off Snowboard Kids 2 and have picked up good old Deus Ex again. Parts of it don't quite hit the same anymore. Conspiracy theories used to be more fun in the early 2000s. Knowing that a lot of people today believe much dumber stuff really dulls that experience.

That's a really interesting mechanic, exterminating a whole species.

Heh. Haven't played Deux Ex in a long time, but that's sad.

Replayed Portal + Portal 2!

Had beaten those games a long time ago on the 360 but could resist picking them up with that -75% sale. They're still just as good as I remember, and the Switch version runs perfectly.

Playing Qualia: The Path of Promise!

Not a lot of progress this week. So far it's been underwhelming, just a generic romance story.

Playing Vampire Survivors!

Still playing this as a side-game, still unlocking more weapons/stages/characters.

That's a great sale for Portal! I'd buy them, but I own them on Steam already, better spend that money on new games (I'm repeating to myself so I don't buy them again). They're such amazing games though...
