I have a Naga Hex 2, which I really like. It recently lost sensitivity to horizontal movement. If I move the mouse slowly, the cursor doesn't move. Moving the mouse fairly quickly, however works fine. Vertically it works as expected as well. I've had something similar happen to other mice in the past (different computers, etc.)

Is this common? Is the mouse broken? Has this happened to anyone else?

I can't think of the words to bring back an answer in a search engine.

I have had many mouses. Most of them broke the side buttons. The scroll wheel usually lasts as much as the side buttons. After that. The left/right main buttons fail.

I have never had a mouse with a broken sensor though. I would look for solutions in the software (calibration and settings). But it's not impossible that it's broken.

I'd look for dust or schmutz on the sensor

Does Synapse have different sensitivity setting for different axis?

Yes, some versions apparently do. I don't know if that your issue but give it a try.

Good idea, but that doesn't appear to be it either.

Haven’t heard of that before, although I will state I’ve never had a mouse die on me (only been PC gaming for under 10 years). Do you have another machine to test it on?

Same problem on another machine. It seems so strange that I've had this happen before with a different brand, and that the vertical works normally.

This mouse is probably 4 years old fwiw.
