Come on now, that's not fair, he was also a segregationist and a homophobe.

biden's been a political figure my entire life and i remember being terrified of him because of the anti-gay rhetoric he espoused for decades and for reaching out to THOROUGHLY despicable people to help them in their fight against progress in things like school de-segregation.

seeing him magically hailed as the most progressive presidential ally in history simply because of the toothless respect for marriage act and a pro-gay-marriage gaffe a decade earlier proved to me that political legacies are easily ignored and i expect that the gaza genocide will likewise be swept under the rug in the future like all american backed genocides usually are.

I still bring up what Obama did to Libya, they love to whitewash warmongers, I love to tell the truth.

Joe Biden is the epitome of a Republican cosplaying as a Democrat.

I think it explains why they thought going to the right was going to work even though it clearly didn't in 2016.

Nah, the destruction of the US by trying to run for a second term will be his legacy.

That's on the DNC

[–] PolandIsAStateOfMind@lemmy.ml -2 points 1 day ago

That would make him hands down best US president ever.

Gaza was going down anyway as it does not matter who is sitting as US president. I still don't understand why Americans focus so much on overseas stuff and let their own people slowly drown, economically

If you think not focusing on overseaes means the government will spend more money helping us, you don't know jack about America.

[–] Notyou@sopuli.xyz 3 points 1 day ago

Exactly. I've heard so many people complain about that money should be spent on people here in the US instead of Ukraine. I get that point of view, but that's not an option. Congress is okay spending money on war because that's how their buddies get rich. In turn there are donations to PACs and what not for Congress.

Democracy in action.
