I believe it. Aurora PD has a long history of racist behavior and absolute brutality. An ex and I called 911 over a severe car wreck in Aurora. The operator asked for our vehicle description and instructed us to pull over and wait until responders were on the scene to talk to us. When the police show up, one gets out of his vehicle, one hand on his gun, and the other flailing wildly telling us to get the fuck out of here or else. Neither my ex or I are white. I have a policy of only calling 911 for medical needs, but after that encounter, when I did, I would tell the operator I am not remaining in the area and am leaving.
