I get the message but not the downvotes.
I anticipated the downvotes. People don't want to see a "dead" dog.
As a dog owner, your image definitely hurt. But it also transported very well what you were trying to tell (in a very dark and cinycal way).
Also, protests that don't hurt, aren't protests.
